So i need a new coolant overflow for my 240 beacause its cracked just like the rest of them..... Anyways I went to the dealer to buy one and the said it was going to be $134 i remember a few months ago it was around $80 still rediculous but alot better of a price then now.... So i decided not to order it and im gonna look around online for a better deal.

If your gonna say i should get the Circuit sports Coolant overflow then im gonna say now that i already bought one of those. I ended up selling it to a friend because the fitting on the bottom that my radiator overflow hose goes to is 5/16 size tubing. The fitting on the bottom of the Circuit sports tank is 1/4 inch size for some reason i was thinking maybe they messed up? Because on the top of the Circuit sports tank was the 5/16 size fitting but that one was on top and was for the tank itself to overflow if needed. Anyone else out there that got a circuit sports tank? If so what size fitting was on the bottom? I tried to find 1/4" tubing but i could not find any that was that size and could withstand coolant and heat. Except for some blue silicone stuff but it was way too soft to clamp down and the clamp just chewed right through the tube and even with the clamp all the way tightened i could still pull the hose off with no effort...

weird. i would just cap off the return thing on CS tank. and let it over flow into the tank without recirculating and then everyonce in a while add some back to the radiator.....

but thanks for the info i am planing on a CS some time in the next couple of months.

did you check ebay for a stock one

Get Weapon-R one. It fits much better. No need to bend brackets or mess with a fitting. I also got CS tank and got rid of it because of poor fitment and smaller lower fitting. Oh! before Weapron-R, I went through 2 stock tanks.

I love the CS tank I use. I used my stock hose and it fit the nipple just fine. It was the same size and radiator nipple. Don't know why yours doesn't fit, did it work for your friend? They can be found for under $100 nowadays, and askme4parts on ebay has a generic one for maybe $80.

junkyard, or find someone who goes to junkyards.

i just picked one up (uncracked, no signs of soon-to-be crackin) the other day actually.

just my two cents, its a lot cheaper than buying some kewl aluminum one.

Yeah my friend got the CS one to fit he used the stock overflow hose for the stock radiator... I have a koyo radiator and the nipple on it is 5/16 and im pretty sure its bigger then the stock one, so thats the problem... if all else fails im gonna just get a new oem one. I dont wanna buy another one off ebay if it is used just because it might crack again soon id rather just start off with a new one even though thats a ton of money. For that same price of $134 i could get a CS one and have someone weld a new fitting.... I looked everywhere for some 1/4 inch tubing that would fit the CS tank and i ended up at some hot rodish auto parts store and they gave me some clear stuff it looked like air tubing for a fish tank so i decided to not trust that because id rather not worry about having a coolant leak from a hose that didnt look like it could handle much of a high temp...

There is however this one on ebay..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

But i dont know if i want to "test" something out on my car haha especially something that has to do with the cooling system... I mean the tank looks allright but still idk about if there could be any leaks around the fittings or anything like that..

personally i would look into something aftermarket. you have to figure that the tanks the dealers have in stock are over ten years old. they have been sitting in a warehouse untouched that entire time, and we all know what happens to plastic as it ages. look into the weapon-r tank, no sense in dropping $134 only to find that your oem replacement cracked all over again. there are members here who have seen good results using the one-size-fits-all tanks sold at the parts stores as well.

yeah i was lookin at the weapon R one idk i might just get one of the dealer ones off ebay for like $70 but that one i mentioned in that link above looked allright too i just dont know if i trust it though... the cooling system is a big deal to me, i am very paranoid when it comes to cooling and oil on these cars.

Hey man,

If you still want to get an OEM, Performance Nissan has it for under $80. (mynismo dot com) click on factory parts, and it's part number 21721-35F01. Also Courtesy Nissan in TX has it for around the same price when I bought one a few years back, not sure if the price has gone up or not since then.

I'm in NY and the dealers here charge an ARM and a LEG for parts, like you, they quoted me a very high price... it's alot cheaper for me buying from other dealers and paying the shipping.

Here is the part number if you want to check local dealers in the area. There are 5/6 in the DFW area and all seem to have different pricing. So it might be worth it to call around for prices.

thank you. I dont think I would have a probem buying a used coolant OF tank from a junkyard for 10 bucks. coolant tank is a coolant tank.

I remember I had a busted eidshield and asked the dealership how much it would be for a new one, just to see what they were ganna say. I was expecting no more than 500. Thats man said $860.....for just the windshield.

Problem is a lot of plastic parts in junkyard are brittle due to sun damage. But still you can find some good ones though. I've never seen a good coolant tank in a junkyard before.

Ehh a difference in hose size never really bothered me, get a hose that fits on the 1/4 and squeeze it over the 5/16... I mean honestly.

The only 1/4 inch i could find would not tighten down on the CS tank... Idk why but i have no problem stretching it over the 5/16 but why would CS do such a thing???

Brackets on my car had to be seriously bent to make CS tank fit right, and I didn't want to go through all that. Weapon-R was direct bolt-on. I had both of them and compared.

Its strange how the CS one seams like such high quality but has fitment problems in more then 1 way... Ill most likely be getting a stock one whether i spend $85 on ebay or the $134 at the dealer idk i guess it depends on my patients. I just dont want to get an after market one and have any chance of it leaking or not working 100 % correctly.

The CS one works fine... I've installed numerous tanks and never had it not fit. All you have to do is bend the lower nipple up a bit, slightly thread all bolts into chassis, then tighten everything down. As far as hosing, just use silicone hose that fits over the 1/4" fitting and stretch over the 5/16" nipple on the radiator. Also you don't need actual hose clamps, just a zip tie on each end. The hose is not under any kind of pressure and will not slip off on it own, even though you might be able to pull it off by hand.

um... Omega ... Check the above posts, both I and working4aS13 gave you names of some nissan dealers that are charging way less than $134. If you're going to spend $85 on ebay, just get one for around the same shipped from courtesy or performance nissan... (mynismo.com) courtesy sells for $80 and mynismo factory parts sells for $76.80.. .even with shipping it's less than $134...

CS overflow tank is the way to go. I did find that the bottom tube was a bit smaller , but it works just fine.

I don't undersstand why people would want to replace a cracked tank with another used one that will too crack in the future. I did the CS at the time not for bling, but for function. It's not as if it's an essential part though. When I got it CS was the only aluminum tank available, if the weapon r was the same thing but cheaper then get that.

I got my because nissan is overpriced with just a plastic tank which will crack again later down the road, or i can get something for the same price that is made of aluminum and wont crack.

well, seeing how i got an uncracked, no-soft-spot OEM reservoir from the junkyard here for free

i have no need to go spend a bunch of money to have an aluminum one to bling it up.

i havent had an overflow tank since i did the KAE to DE swap MONTHS ago, i just had the little hose going from my radiator, down the side of it pointing at the ground.
