I run MT's and they do great at the track, and i have probably put over 1000 miles on them on the street. They are slick on the street, but they are lasting a hell of a lot longer than i thought they would. This on a 5,000 lb truck no less.

I run 235/60/15 MT DR's and they are excellent at the track, but you would be crazy to drive them in the rain at over 35mph on a S13/S14. These cars are way to light and very loose in the rain with any tire. I can see them on a Titan doing OK in the rain but not my car.

345whp 350tq on dynojet. 11.78@116 with mt drag radials/7.61@91 in the 1/8th with 26x8.5 wrinkle walls.
up next: tomie 260 procams, BC springs, and 25 psi on 110 race gas!

kentucky, you know not of what you speak obviously lol i drove in a 400+whp mustang, DAILY, rain or shine, with 315/60/15 drag radials.... and currently drive my S13 daily making damn near the same power, with 275/45/17 drag radials. its all in how you drive. if you drive liek a little punk 16 year old, then sure youll be all over the place, but if you drive like a normal human being, youll be fine, theres a reason they are treaded other than to look like a normal tire. it does provide a small function.

I drove my car to work in the rain two days ago with the ET streets on the rears, 255s. No problems at 65-70mph.

If you hit anything slick like metal etc.. watch out. I was accellerating gently and spun the tires on a stop line.

im trying to figure out what kinda DR's i want to put on my 17x8's in the rear. any reason why you are switching from bfg to mt?

I have MeanGreen's Bfg's now LOL but I ran several passes on them. The Bfg's are not as sticky as MT. MT is the better tire, I could only cut 1.7 60's on the Bfg's spinning hard threw the 60ft, and on Mt im able to get 1.6's all day.

was it hard to fit the 275/45 to the 8" wheel? will the 275/40 MT Street fit a 17x8? it says on summit's site that minimum rim width should be 9"?

i was looking at the BFG DR's on summit too, and i didnt see a 275/45. u sure its not also a 275/40? but that one says 9" min recommended rim width too

the next size i see for the MT streets would be 205/40....?

When I had the 17x8's MeanGreen has I was running a 26x11.5x17 MT et street. I Believe a 275-40 would be no problem in fitting. The Wheel size summit will give you is ideal not required. I did that combo to get alot of sidewall flex off the 17 inch rim. Which seemed to worked good.

those ET streets, are they considered radial street legal tires? my car is my summer DD and im wondering if i should just those same ones

im just worried the 275/40 wont fit or benefit me. or i might just have to settle for the 205/40s. just dont like the idea cuz the tires i have for the fronts are 225/55s

i do still have my 15x7s that i could just get a set of the 235/60 but just hate the idea of switching my wheels for racing.

man i dont know what to do

EDIT: did a little more looking and found that Nitto 555 comes in 245/45/17 sounds like a better fit for me. or also found BFG has 225/45/17s found it on tire rack but not on bfg's website, wtf?

anyone know any other sites besides summit that sells MT drag rads? maybe there are other sizes just not listed?

I think im going to go with the Nittos, unless you guys know where I can get some MT's or BFGs in a similar size, more suited for an 8" wheel?
