I need some help guys. I followed this tech article to remove door panel.

http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=248028

But this piece won't come out at all. There's a small screw inside and I removed it. I tried to pull it in several different ways, but it won't even move. Actually, I had exact same problem on a junk car in the past. I had to break this piece in half to remove door panel. Any ideas??? It's really frustrating.

on my s13 just undo the screw and lift it out. Then unclip the power window switch harness.although i did pull/slide it back to front to make sure it was loose, then just grabbed the back side and pulled it out.

idk why you had a hard time with it..

There's something that we don't know what's going on. If you read the article and try to remove it, it's easy enough to understand what's going on, but something's still holding inside.

ok, i have this same problem but i figured out a way

Listen:

On that part that houses the controls for the power windows there is a clip on the front of it (the part closer to the hinge on the door). When you pull on it, the clip holds it in and it is a PAIN IN THE ***! Get a small flathead screw driver and slowly pry your way around the piece. Be careful around the edges, its old plastic and it can be brittle.

Once u get some room to fit the flathead, locate the clip at the front and try pushing it in and lifting the piece up. Once you see it and it is up, things will go easier. Then start prying it up and watch out on the side closer to the door panel, that can be tricky too. Just maneuver it side to side and it should brake lose.

IF THAT DOESNT WORK:

Open the door and lay down on the ground underneath it. Pull the door panel on the bottom of it and pull until you hear and feel the clips let off the door. Now look up under the door panel in the gap and you will see the annoying mother fu**ing clip that annoys us all. Also, you can disconnect the unit wiring from it to make it a little easier.

I know i write a lot, but good luck. It can be a real pain, but once you figure it out, you'll know what to do from now on.

if ur talking about the passenger panel, there's one more screw that holds on the vertical pull handle. It held me up for a little while too.

There is only one way to do it...unscrew all the screw, make sure you pull out the door panel, then gently slide it towards your car, there reach down behind the door panel, pull the plug, now it should come out, because of the plug its hard to get the clip to unclip.

Below the plug is a piece of metal usually it holds the panel real tight therefore you have to slide the door panel to loosen it.

I guess this is it. That clip is the problem. I took these out from a junk car and I had to break driver side switch housing.

Okay, this was it. You can reach it if you stick your hand. I was able to remove it without damaging it. Thanks...

One more thing though. I took my time and was very careful, but still these tabs just broke off like this. But it should be okay and it's going to be even easier next time when I remove the door panel.

Alright,One more question about the door panel. What's the best way to clean the fabric? Mine is dirty and I was thinking about pressure washing(w/mild pressure) it after I apply a little bit of soap. I did that to floor mats and it really cleans up. Do you guys think it's going to work? Has anyone done it before? I don't want to mess it up.

i dont think pressure washing is necessary, how dirty are they? i cleaned mine up by hand w/ a bucket of soap and water. that should do the trick

Oxyclean fabric stain remover. This stuff is AMAZING. The back seat of my s13 was so nasty when i got it, soaked it in water mixed with oxyclean and got about 3 gallons of BLACK water out of it. Then scrubbed it with the oxyclean and vacuumed some more, then rinsed it all out with the hose. Now it looks almost new

when i cleaned my door fabric i just used a damp rag with some of the oxyclean stain remover on it. Then once they were nice and clean... i decided to reupholster them like 3 weeks later.

Alright, that's what I wanted to know. I think Bed, Bath & Beyond has them. I'll update this thread with some before and after pics. Cool, thanks.
