I own them all except Two Worlds. Of the three I own, Orange Box gets played the most and is without any question the best.Eternal Sonata is an excellent game, though. It's even more fun when you have another person to play it with (sort of coop/shared control). TF2 is a far, far, far better multiplayer game than Halo 3 and Halo 3's singleplayer campaign is to the Half Life 2 saga what a 20 year old Hyundai is to a Maserati Quattroporté. Definitely get the Orange box. Even if HL2 isn't your thing, Portal is an absolute MUST play game, and TF2 is great if you're the XBL multiplayer FPS kind of person.

Orange Box but I would reccomend getting it for PC if you can, the 360 version only has 16 player support and the lag is alot worse than any other 360 game i've played. I can't comment on Eternal Sonota beyond what I've watch my girlfriend play, I can say it has the most inspired visuals I have ever seen in any RPG, but it also has alot of children characters and that tends bug me.

Halo 3 for the multiplayer. Orange Box for just plain fun. Portal is stupid fun and quirky and all of the Half-Life's rule but yeah TF2 is kind of laggy but future patches will fix that, just as any Live game. Halo 3 online is ridiculously fun.

If I could vote twice, it would be towards Orange Box & Eternal Sonata. Both really great games (well, OB is 5 really great games hehe). I just voted OB instead of ES because I don't want to see Halo 3 win with OB, expect a lot of "indoor" close-combat shooting, as opposed to Halos wide open fields. Two Worlds is okay, but I would still rather point you in the direction of Oblivion.

Great advice as usual from MoD. I was leaning towards The Orange Box to begin with. The original HL was my favorite game until FFVII came around a year later. I was following Portal when it was a seperate side project before the Orange Box was announced, and I still really want to play it. | Quote, originally posted by OldmanPurdy » | | Orange Box but I would reccomend getting it for PC if you can, the 360 version only has 16 player support and the lag is alot worse than any other 360 game i've played. My computer is a little sluggish now, as I built it about 5 years ago. The video card is only 3 years old, but thats still old for hardware. That said, I would prefer to have net lag over video lag, especially if everyone else is lagging too. On the console everyone will be in the same boat, but on the computer I will be at a disadvantage. I know what you mean about the childlike characters, I couldnt get into Kingdom Hearts even though a lot of people (even older people than me) told me it was great. However, I LOVE the idea behind ES and I am a big RPG fan, so I dont think I'll miss this one. It'll have to get it after the Orange Box. | Quote, originally posted by redtop91 » | | Halo 3 for the multiplayer. Orange Box for just plain fun. Dont worry Ryon, one day I will have Halo 3 as well. I'm just not in an absolute hurry to buy it. And when I do, everyone else will have been playing for 6 months and I'll just get raped every time I log on. I'm sure it will still be fun though. | Quote, originally posted by s13jus10 » | | If I could vote twice, it would be towards Orange Box & Eternal Sonata. Looks like its going to be the Orange Box. As for Two Worlds/Oblivion, I had Oblivion shortly after it came out. Thats why I'm interested in Two Worlds. I have done everything you can do in Oblivion, and I have the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. And its STILL fun to pop in every once in a while, to kill everyone in the Imperial City. Great game, its still one of the best current console games. They better be working on another. Thanks for the help guys! I have really bad ADD, and it makes me VERY indecisive.

Ok here comes the expert opinion. I know you all want to know what i think. Get the Orange Box you can't go wrong with with HL2, Portal, and TF2. It gives you everything you could want in a game. HL2 is just plain fun with the intense and extremely involving Single Player Campaign. Portal is really there to test your mind. TF2 is a great multiplayer game that you will not be disappointed with. I mean what else can you want? Halo gets old quick for most that are older than 15 years old, but Orange Box will keep you planted for a long time. Also, with HL2: Episode 3 coming out soon you should be happy for many many months. Hope I helped, good luck gaming.

You are most likely right because people feel like they can put in their 2 cents while not even trying the other games. This is why gamers have a bad rep. because of the fact that gamers are close-minded, and refuse to listen to reason. I have seriously lost confidence in the gaming community as a whole after I found out that games like Bioshock got a 10/10. No game deserves a perfect score because they all have flaws. (Although the Bioshock was good it was not perfect).

my vote goes to Halo 3, people like to put the game down because its so popular. I dont play my Halo3 that much anymore, but its the 4 player coop that put it past the orange box in my opinion.

Too bad Halo fans, I bought the Orange Box. I still havent had the opportunity to blow through HL2 yet so I had to get it. I played the leaked beta (or was it alpha?) way back on my PC before the game was released, but this obviously runs a lot smoother.

Hmm, that's a tough one. I haven't played Halo 3 yet, but I can imagine it's pretty good. At the same time, Eternal Sonata is a pretty cool RPG. I haven't played Two Worlds and I haven't even HEARD of Orange Box, so I can't help you there. I guess it just depends on what you feel like - you want a shooter, go with Halo 3; you feel more like an RPG, go with Eternal Sonata. ~GreatCountySky~ Used Boat Sale

I wager I know more about video games than you do. Just because I don't obsess over Half-Life like it's the second coming (or because the video game magazines tell me too) doesn't mean I don't know video games. I've kept up with video games since that Atari 2600. You want to talk Halo, I've beaten Halo on all the difficulty settings by myself. I own an X-Box, a Playstation 2, an X-Box 360, a Gamecube, and a PSP. I'll be buying a Wii with my tax return money here soon. So don't tell me I don't know what the hell I'm talking about just because I don't know, and don't give a ****, about the Orange Box. Yes, I know what Half-Life 2 is - I just hate PC games and refuse to play the inferior port for X-Box 360. Plus, I like to play a WIDE variety games - so EXCUSE ME for not being a part of the massive circle jerk around Half-Life 2. I'm too busy playing Elder Scrolls IV on X-Box 360, Final Fantasy Tactics on PSP, Ninja Gaiden (On the Very Hard setting) on X-Box, Ghosthunter on PS2, and Metroid Prime 2 (on the Hard Setting) for Gamecube. So I've got my hands full - but hopefully I'll be able to muscle through since I don't know what the hell I'm talking about and I don't know anything about video games.

I'm recommending based on the fact that I've played the crap out of Halo and pretty much know what to expect from Halo 3 from the reviews I've read. Since I didn't even know what Orange Box was, and even now that I know, I recommended Halo because I've never played the games in Orange Box and i know for sure that Halo is fairly solid. Yeesh, I don't even know if I want to play Orange Box if the people who play it are such defensive, elitist jerks about it.

Yes, I know what Half-Life 2 is - I just hate PC games and refuse to play the inferior port for X-Box 360. |
THEN STAY OUT OF THE CONVERSATION. You dont know about the Orange Box and don't even care about it. You make a assumption that one game is better then other, and acknowledge that you know jack-**** about one of the said games. It's like you're setting yourself up to fail. I'm not being a defensive elitist jerk. I'm just saying you're sitting here telling people Halo3 is better but you're admitting you don't know what the hell you're talking about by saying you've never played the other game. I'm just making sure people understand you're a moron and you are making judgment calls based on only one piece of information, much like a 12 year old would.

wow... everybody has different oppinions and preferences. I do agree though that you can't ever have a true comparison between two things until you have tried them both. Because until you do... you're just assuming.Knowledge and experience are everything.

I agree with that - it's just that otterman is an ******* plain and simple. There are better ways to make that point without being a total dickhead, which is the route otterman went. "Waaah, how dare you say Halo 3 is better than Orange Box! You don't know video games! Waaah! You're a moron!" Then he has the gall to call ME a 12-year-old AND a fanboy! WTF? I'm not the one flaming people for expressing a contrary opinion. Otterman - Why don't you climb into your Orange Box and shut the **** up.

You do act like a 12-year old fan boy, mainly because you're having an extremely difficult time figuring out what's being said about you. I dont care if you think Halo3 is better. I never said anything to anyone else who has said that.
I care that the fact you're making a judgment based on only one side. You've played Halo3, thats it. And you're saying it's so much better. Everyone else has played both and expressed their opinion except you. You're being a fan boy saying Halo3 is better without ever playing OB. It has nothing to do with you liking Halo3, its EVERYTHING to do with you're boasting Halo3 being so much better when you've never played the other game. If you've played both and like Halo3 better, that's awesome. But that's not what you are doing here. | Quote, originally posted by you jackass, you » | it's just that otterman is an ******* plain and simple. Know whats neat? I know that I'm huge asterisk so does everyone else and I'm ok with that. There are ways to make a point (if it's a better way, thats you're call) but this is the most fun way. Specially when thick headed people like you can't see whats really being said (aka, saying your a ****tard for bragging about halo3 being better when you've never played the other game)

Actually, he said he hasnt played Halo 3 either, he just likes the original and has read enough reviews to know he will like it. I'm with otterman on this one. Just because you dont obsess over HL2 doesnt mean its not a good game. You believe theres a massive circle jerk around HL but NOT around Halo? You must be completely oblivious then. Most of us like variety too...but I beat Oblivion over a year ago and Tactics on PSX. Its good to see an open minded person such as yourself refuse to play games based on God knows wha |
