I have now owned my Iridium Graphite AWD Rogue for less than a week and am ready to buy body side moldings, but need the paint code for Iridium. I tried the suggested websites at http://www.paintscratch.com/ OR http://www.sherwin-automotive....r.cfm, but got lost. Can anyone find it for me (and maybe list the numbers for all the colors so we can make it a sticky post)?

As far as I know, you can order them from the dealer pre-painted.

Check our OEM parts supplier sponsors for a fat discount.

I purchased my painted side moldings from sportwing.com. My Rogue is Orange Alloy. I could not find a color code also. I contacted sportwing.com @ 800-899-1516 (customer service). I gave her my yr, make, model and color. She looked it up and got the appropriate code, no problem.

My painted side moldings cost $99.00 and are perfect.

I love this place. I called Sportwing just now and ordered my side moldings in Iridium Graphite. The nice rep will look up the color code to make sure the color is correct.

Cheers, Dave

P.S. Megan at Sportwing says the code is K55 for Iridium Graphite.

Were these hard to install? Or did you have the dealer install?

I don't have these myself, but to DIY you need to wipe the area very well with a good wax and grease remover, dry well with another clean dry cloth, then to get them on straight run a piece of 3/4" masking tape the entire length of the sides of the car placing the top edge of the tape where you want the bottom edge of the moldings to be and make sure it is straight, (crucial) Then carefully start at the cut/straight ends of the moldings and apply them just above the tape line, run your hand/fingers over them pressing them onto the car firmly. If you've never put stripes or something similar on before you may want to have it done because getting them straight can be tough and they are usually trash if you remove them for some reason.

An old request... but a pic is a pic! (FYI... this image was taken from the Sportwing website. It doesn't appear to be an actual photo but a photoshopped image of some kind)... but you get the idea.

Well... based on feedback in other threads... and the satisfaction other members have had with ordering body side molding from Sportwing... I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered them. As soon as I get them installed I'll post some pics.

My hesitation in ordering has been because my Rogue is Glacier Pearl White (QX1). For any of you who have not seen it in person it is a one of those pearlescent colors (white with tiny flecks of blue and green metallic) that changes color depending on how the sun hits it.

I've done plenty of custom paint jobs in the past and can tell you its near impossible to do a repair and paint a small portion of a pearlescent color and not have it show. This is because (based on temperature, humidity and the viscosity of the paint) the metal flakes suspended in the paint... can settle into the finish at different angles. So... even if you use the exact paint from the manufacturer… the touched up area may reflect the light differently and cause the repaired area to stand out or look slightly different.

However... I called Sportwing "talked to Patty in Sales" She said they have sold dozens of the molding kits in all the various colors including Artic White and have never had a complaint about the color match. In fact... Sportwing guarantees the color match of their molding or you get your money back. We’ll see! Anyway… per the email I received today the molding has been shipped. I’ll update this thread as the saga continues.

Thanks... based on your feedback I also placed an order with Sportwing.com. Amazing how they manage to match the color. In the end I don't know what was more stressful... worrying about whether or not the color would match when I ordered it... or freaking out that after I peeled off the tape and stuck it on to the car that it would be crooked.

Side Note: I also ordered and installed some chrome door handle covers. Purchased from billetanything.com and put 35% window tint on the front windows.

The finished product!

And you have me thinking about buying the chrome door handles in the other forum thread.....
