In terms of hassle you'll probably break even if you part it out or fix it and sell. Thing is, I think the radiator core support is FUBAR'd, so good luck getting a decently cheap fix.If you don't mind the hassle, part that sucker out.

By the looks of it the damage looks quite extensive. I'd just part the car out to avoid the hassle of fixing it.

It looks like either a 2002-2003 they have some issues you need to be aware of. Such things as horrible precat faiulre and butterfly screw intake issues. Both can be resolved easy, as for performance parts what does it come with? I wouldnt part out im loving my 02 and it still is running strong with all the beating i give it.

It all comes down to whether there is frame damage. Since the insurance company totalled it, I assume there is. 00-03 fronts are different than 04-06, but either will fit so long as you get all the parts from the same year set.In the sticky up top there's a link to a thread that details all of the B15 Sentra's issues. If you plan on keeping it, make sure you've taken care of each of them. Just from the pic it's hard to tell the extent of the damage, so it's impossible to tell you what to do. Find out what the insurance representative wrote down during the assessment and go from there.

^^^Concurrage, think about it, the only way an insurance company totals a car is if the damage is more than the car is worth. it really looks like there is some frame damage.

if i was u i would fix it bcuz u didnt pay for it which means u saved a lil $ it was a simple rear end accident so from the looks of it u just need a Radiator support w/ radaitor and other basic things that u can find at junk yard or in the parts section on here i had a few cars and crashed a few that was worst than dis and only spend 2-2k to fix

The rad support is part of the frame. It's not something you can unbolt and replace. A proper frame fix is going to be serious $.Even if you do get it fixed, insurance on salvage cars isn't exactly cheap. Eventually the extra you spend on fixing it and insurance will catch up to the price you'd have paid for a car that wasn't broken in the first place.

The first thing to do is determine how much frame damage there is. After that point a decision can be made and you can start shopping around for used parts to replace the front end and other parts as needed.

With 90k and it not being broken it'd be worth 6 or 7k, so I suppose half for a totaled car isn't too shabby.

If insurance says it's totaled, how is the title clean? Everything I've seen says that when insurance says a car is totaled, if you keep it it's marked salvage and "sold back" to you, and if you give it to them it gets sold to a junkyard... as salvage.

well.. i figured since the car had liability.. it wasnt covered if it was our fault of the reck anyway.. the title will probably say there was an accident on it.. but still wont have a salvage title.. because we didnt have to buy anthing back from the insurance company.. i dunno but i do have the title and it's non salvage.. the only reason i want to fix it.. is to use it as a daily driver.. since i already have my 240 i don't want or cant afford two project cars.. and vegas is so bad with car thefts right now.. where my 240 will get jacked quick style if i daily drive it..

Check with your state's laws. They vary. In CA, insurance companies are required to notify the DMV if the vehicle is totalled. In some rare cases, I've seen people use the old title to sell a car which the new owner becomes painfully aware of when they go to transfer the title. In some very extremely rare cases, if an insurance company goofs or the mail doesn't get to the DMV timely then it may not show up as a salvage in their systems until after a title transfer has already taken place. Keep in mind this my bite you in the behind later...

I personally would part it out. There is no loss to you if its free and you can buy some cool stuff for your s14. There are a good number of people that would pay for the (good) parts.Speaking of parting out, what condition is the driverside headlight in? I might want that.

The good thing about being a front end damage like that is you can get a front clip, cut off the front and weld right in. There's labor to pull out parts and stuff but the actual fix won't show so easily since the new fenders and bumpers will cover it easily. SE-R Spec V sells fro $9,000 clean. You can get like $7,500 after the fix. Just calculate the amount. Doing stuff yourself or not doing all at the body shop will save you money. Example you can get the body shop to weld the new front clip in and do the painting and parts yourself to lower cost.

While you're working on the front end you can also work on engine stuff like rear and front main seals, clutch, oil pan gasket, mounts etc. Think of it as a good time to redo the car as you want.

Need more pics, man. Here's my take: I smoked a deer with my 02 Spec V, and it looked just like that except the damage was a little more focused on the passenger side of the front. It was barely below being totaled by my insurance company. $6.5k for repairs. So, if you can do it yourself and make a profit, great. But if your radiator mount is damaged like mine was, buckle up for a bumpy ride.

I just happened to come across your post... im going to give you my 2cents... most of the people that posted to this dont know what they are talking about... i have been fixing and selling salvage cars for 10 years.. i have fixed water flood i have even replaced half a car and put another clean half.. "probably the best thing to do" parts arent expensive just dont buy them at the dealer... you can get oem parts without buying them at the dealer. that accident doesnt even look like damage i can bet money it didnt damage the radiator... people here get scared because a little plastic is broken.. haha i could get that fixed for 500 bucks... i would first take it to a shop and see what they think not ask on a online forum what people think about something they know nothing about... what year is it whats the miles? ill buy it from you if the price is right. i can get you parts for that car easy or any car

Dragging up an old thread... oh well. You see that giant puddle under the car? That's a busted radiator. When the radiator gets busted on a Sentra in an accident, the rad support is gone. When the rad support is gone, Sentras are toast. I know this cause I've seen many 00-06 Sentras suffer that exact fate. I guarantee you can't fix that for $500, even if the parts are out of a junkyard it'd be at least $1000, without paint. Bumper, hood, lights, grille, bumper support, rad support, radiator, possible frame mending. Even if you didn't make any money on the deal it'd be over $500. I checked up on your threads. All you do is try to sell crap, and in the wrong sections no less, except a few questions about your G. Stick to that rather than waltzing in and telling several Sentra owners they don't know anything about their cars.

I just recently had front end damage to my 05 sentra se-r. repair cost was about $4k. new fender, hood, pass hl, bumber cover and supports, grill, radiator, radiator support, condenser, and more, plus paint. The damage didnt even look that bad. Just some insight to cost.
Drive SAFE not SLOW, and ALWAYS buckle up.
