So far today my car has been taking about 5 seconds to start and I was just driving home and noticed when I would put the car into neutral it would drop down to about 500 rpms or lower and almost die out. So I pull into my driveway and let the car idle for a sec and it dies out, try to start the car again and it wont start at all. I go to pull the spark plug wires and there is oil soaked all over my plugs and wires.......WTF does this mean!?!?!?!? Is my motor toast pretty much cuz if so im ****ed cuz this is my only car.....Please people help me out asap

not too much to worry about this is common. your valve cover seals are toast. you have a valve cover gasket and you alsoo have 4 seals for the spark plugs. they are obviously blown and isn't too much to fix maybe $80.replace the valve cover gasket an replace the seals. also might as wellget new spark plugs. but make sure you use ngk plugs

sounds like u need a new head gasket...or possibly just spark plug gasket

in other words oil clogged ur plugs so no spark...

remove ur spark plugs and clean em with carb cleaner or just get new ones...

and take off ur valve cover and look at ur plug gasket (gasket surrounding the holes to spark plugs)

if its torn then theres ur prob

I dont think it is a headgasket, well I really hope not. Now that I come to think of it I recently had to change out some lifters and I used my old valve cover gasket but that only had about 4000 miles on it so would that need to be replaced? I have a full gasket set for a 91 ka24de so could I just use the seals from that even though my motor is a 95 ka24de?

honestly im not sure...because the valve cover on a s14 KA is bigger than S13 KA valve cover...

in other words... valve cover gasket no u wouldnt be able to obviously...

inner spark plug gasket, i dunno u might get lucky...if u can wait about 3-3 1/2 hours, i have an s14 valve cover at home with said gasket, and an s13 valve cover aswell...if it fits ill let yah know

ok so I am a moron, a little while back I had to pull out my cams and change out my lifters and being in a rush I forgot to even put the spark plug seal back in....im just suprised that this didnt happen sooner because I have probably been driving the car for a few weeks since then.

Just wondering what would be the best way to clean all of the oil out of there because my car is miss firing like crazy and wont hold idle due to the leftover oil that is still in there?

i would suggest a slow and steady process of either cotton balls and needle nose... or tissues...easier when u have the cover off...
