Hey... I'm from Australia and drive a 90's model Infiniti Q45. Im changing it from the N/A to a single turbo set-up and I need to get some information to get my ECU mapped out for it. These cars a quite rare over here and our local dealers dont have any info on them at all.

I'm Just after any information as to the model/part number, whether or not they are the same as another Nissan motor or a detailed list of the engine components.

Cheers in advance...

Might check out the VH/VK engine forum.

This post may even be moved there.

What do you need to know exactly? If you can't get parts at your local Nissan dealer, Call Hornsby Nissan in NSW. I'll warn you now though that there are only one or two exhaust manifold gaskets in the country. And you will need eight of them.

Can you give some more detail on your build? It will make alot of difference based on what you are doing. How much boost are you planning? Around 6 PSI and under can easily be done without any ECU mods. Water, alc, or methanol injection can help alot as you raise boost, a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator, etc. If you wan to push 6-8 you will need to start tweaking the ECU (which is where I planning to be) and over 8 you should concider more major engine mods if you want it to last.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Okay. Details about this build are:

Has had a few of the major mechanical/electrical parts replaced or bebuilt. Alternator, starter, drive pulleys, custom cams.

Gearbox is completely rebuilt with a manual valve body, kevlar bands, A/M cooling, 3g stally and hardened planetary and sun gears from a Nissan Patrol.

Im going to be using a T3/4 turbo. 1.63 hot side/ .6 cold side. Planning on runnig around 10-12lbs boost.

I currently have a 550hp Bosch fuel pump and 800cc injectors. An AFM from a LS1 5.7L V8.

What Im doing with the ECU is going for a Microtech LT10s. This can be used with mostly all my factory sensors.

What I need to know is the part number for the crank angle sensor or is it the same as any other nissan? Microtech need to know so they can make a map for me.

After that I'm going to be looking for my pistons.

Here's the Nissan P/N from a 91Q crank angle sensor: 23731-60U13.

Hope this helps. Good Luck.

The oem Q45 CAS is pretty unique since it has 3 independendent circuits which create 4 x every 90 degree and every 1 degree pulses plus a #1 TDC master pulse.
