Does the Rogue have a true Ipod connector? Or just an AUX input?

I was under the impression somewhere that the Rogue had a true Ipod connector. I then assumed that I could control the ipod from the steering wheel and stereo like I can do in our Escalade.

When I test drove the Rogue today I could not find an Ipod connector anywhere. In the manual there was nothing under Ipod.

Does this car of an Ipod connector?

No, unless you replace the factory unit with something aftermarket the aux jack is a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. So the rogue stereo just processes the sound, but doesn't control an ipod other than volume up/down (and doesnt replace ipod volume either).

I'm sure an aftermarket unit from Alpine, Pioneer etc would do what you suggest ... although it might be tricky to hook up to the steering wheel controls.

Nissan does make an IPod interface for some models (Altima, Frontier, Titan, Murano, Versa, etc) that gives you control of your IPod from the radio and steering wheel controls.

Example: 07 Altima (look under Audio)http://www.nissanusa.com/altima/accessories.html

However there is no listing for the Rogue yet. Keep checking with you dealer to see if this becomes an option. The kit alone is over $200. Then you have to add installation costs.

I can see why Nissan has gone with AUX inputs instead. Much cheaper and they're universal.

There should be an iPod adapter coming out. Technically, the Sentra doesn't have one, but I have the same 6 disc changer as the Maxima, just a different amplifier.

I wonder if anyone has figured this 2008 Rogue IPOD interface as yet? I have been looking everywhere for a direct IPOD connection that allows controls at the steering wheel.
