It's the blower (aka supercharger). The gears, Screws, etc. inside the blower make the high pitched whine noise we all love to hear.ArEs23x wrote:oh wow that gave me a woody
what do you have to do to get that sound when your hittin the gas...I dont know how to describe it...but it makes the car sound bada$$.. HOw many Hp do you guys think that is? how much do you think he spend to get there?
You ain't never gonna stop using that huh?S13Teddy wrote:ZOMGBBQSAUCE
4200.00 for the deluxe kit capable of ~640-650RWHP with stock internals, ignition and fuel delivery system (Cobra's come with dual 160lph fuel pumps and either 42 or 60lb injectors, I forget). More can be had if you upgrade your fuel system, cooling, cams and move up to the 2.8L charger...ArEs23x wrote:HOw many Hp do you guys think that is? how much do you think he spend to get there?
The '03-'04 Cobras came with a really stout engine with forged internals that can run 600-700rwhp with just a bigger blower and accompanying bolt-ons. The stock 42lb injectors are a bottleneck but are easily replaced. Last I remember a 2.8 kenne bell could put down about 850-1000rwhp, but the stang in the video doesn't have that big of a blower on it...Looneybomber wrote:4200.00 for the deluxe kit capable of ~640-650RWHP with stock internals, ignition and fuel delivery system (Cobra's come with dual 160lph fuel pumps and either 42 or 60lb injectors, I forget). After about 50,000 miles ALOT of stuff goes wrong with almost any ford. You just gotta have serious love for the blue oval sometimes...NSRpartsguy wrote:yeah it looks and sounds nice now, but take it from a ford owner>> there's a reason it stands for Fix Or Repair Daily
Im pushing 70,000 and only basic maintinece has been done. Still runs like a dream, starts perfect, idles perfect, no complaints what so ever, guess its just luck of the draw.Shift_Alabama wrote:

seriously?SketchyRollin564 wrote:Its like a baby giant grasshopper crying about her ex boyfriend.
My dream mustang would have the 5.4 32 valve motor in it(ya know, from the Navigators). Just like the Cobra R's. Toss on a Screw SS, headers, straight runner intake manifold, ETC...... and I'de give a kidney to a guy in need for A stang like that.r34 gtr wrote:One day, I will own one of those cars. I want a small displacement 32v quad cam v8 so freaking bad. My friend's dad had a red 01 cobra in high school, and it was so much fun to drive. That sound was boner inspiring, and it was bone stock!
It prolly also has to do with who owned the car beforehand...the last guy that owned my car cut the springs and f*cked the 3-4 shift fork, so I guess it depends on how hard the last owner ran the car.barcode wrote:

You know the Sean Hyland has a 6.0 stroker for the 5.4s right? A 6.0 DOHC V8 with a Kenne Bell 3.4 Twin Screw would be in-freakin-sane!wa-chiss wrote:

Yes they are capable of insane power. My friend has a Cobra motor(N/A on nitrous) in his 98 GT and just did a T-56 conversion on it. Makes 500tq and 450rwhp on a 150 shot of nitrous. He's looking at running a Vortec S/C and 600+rwhp. Those 4.6's are badass. I think that guy would give me a good run on the freeway, but I don't think he'd have the topend.Looneybomber wrote:4200.00 for the deluxe kit capable of ~640-650RWHP with stock internals, ignition and fuel delivery system (Cobra's come with dual 160lph fuel pumps and either 42 or 60lb injectors, I forget). Did you eat an excessive amount of lead based paint chips as a child? Because man....you're not right in the head.SketchyRollin564 wrote:I just hate the whine of the supercharger. Its like a baby giant grasshopper crying about her ex boyfriend.
I guess its to each his own. Mabey if the whine wasnt so loud and intense, it might sound sweet (idk, never heard a supercharger that wasnt annoying as fck), but whatevs lolnsrZ32 wrote:Did you eat an excessive amount of lead based paint chips as a child? Because man....you're not right in the head.
