Hi guys,

I work for US News and I'm out getting some feedback on our new car rankings and reviews site. We have The Infiniti G37 ranked #3 in our list of Best Upscale Midsize Cars. I'd be interested to know what you guys think of the rank of this or any car on our site. Don't worry this is not spam, I'll be sticking around this forum in case anyone has any thoughts,

Thanks-Bret

Interesting, just saw the BMW 3 series is #1 and they show the 335 coupe. You will probably catch some heat from the G37 faithful for that one.

It's all relative.

If you simply compare performance, interior and exterior (since the G37 does not have the other ratings yet) then it actually ranks higher than the Lexus and BMW 3-series.

Again, it's all relative

EDIT: DOH...beat by Mr Anderson on pretty much the same points

As it turned out the 3 series got the highest rating of any car on our site. That made it more difficult for the G37 or the ES to make a run at that top spot. However, most of the reviewers were amazed at how close the G37 got to matching the driving experience of the 3 series. It appears that Infiniti is approaching the the kind of quality previously reserved only for German Car companies.

It's an interesting site. I personally tell people to not make buying decisions entirely based on such lists, as personal impressions and the weighting of attributes will vary from person to person, but as such rankings go yours appears to be the most thorough to date.

I have sent you an email. My company, TrueDelta.com, might be able to help you get reliability info on cars too new for others to have this information.

Without a doubt the 3-series (and 335) is a great automobile. The 3-series has been around for quite a time so it has had plenty of time to grow into the vehicle it is today. I give Infiniti a "pat on the back" for even approaching them this soon with a 2nd-gen platform.

I recently went from a 2002 BMW M3 Coupe to a new 2008 G37S, 6MT with EVERYTHING on it including the spoiler that I just added aftermarket.

I liked the M3 but it was a rougher ride.I love my G37. Very luxurious, very comfortable ( my wife will actually choose to go out in the G instead of her Ford Edge), very techie, very fast. Not as quick off the line as the M3, but when you stay at high rpms, the thing hauls.

I know some are saying the 4 wheel steer is not all its cracked up to be, but I love it. In traffic, the 4WAS makes getting through traffic a breeze. Much easier than otherwise. And it really reduces the sway when going around corners. This makes the driving experience much funner. You should try it.

I am ecstatic about my G37. I was looking for something in the $40 range to replace the M3, but all the companies are trying to outdo each other with 400-500 hp and the prices are just too high. I though I was "settling" for the G37, but I think it is a great replacement.
