Just purchased pre cut 3M clear bra and was woundering if this thing is easy to install or if I should have someone do it for me. If so does anyone know an installer in the Dallas area?

had mine installed professionally. was told by the dealer that it was "very tricky" to make it look all nice and bubble free.

I just purchased the 3M clear bra for my sedan two weeks ago. I received in the mail with a full kit and installed myself... (Partially)

The hood and the fenders went on pretty easily, but the front bumper and nose piece was IMPOSSIBLE!!!! After about 3 hours of stretching and trying to fit the material, I had to give up as the product was adhering to itself and looked like hell... safe yourself the time and torture and have a professional install this. I'm doing a write up on it now as the new nose piece is being delivered today. The company I bought the kit from was gracious with replacing the kit, but I'm still going to have a professional install the nose piece.

Can you post some pics of how this looks? I am thinking about doing this myself. I wanna see how ugly it is.

How much did you pay for the kit/installation?

I would never tell anyone that they cannot install the film themselves But it is not as easy as it appears. i trained for a week and install film most days of the week. A vehicle takes me an avg of 5 hrs for a car after 2 yrs. I am quite familiar with the G and the 35x bumper and will bring the popcorn to watch someone DIY. It is much harder than tint. Also, most of the patterns that you will buy " discount" online will offer less coverage than the one an installer will choose. my . 02

And I'd also like to go on the record as saying that even my professionally installed bra isn't "100% perfect". I'm mean it's very good and it MUCH better than I could ever hope to do, but down low on the lower bumper area there are some bends and swoops in the body that the installer had a couple of small flaws. Looks like they have a couple of creases in the material.

It's not so bad that one would notice and I only recognized it after owning the car for a while and was down there doing some mods, but it most definitely is a couple of flaws.

Lesson to learn from this: even the pros must find this challenging to accomplish. Based on this, I'd never advise a DIY job.

I will concur somewhat. I have never done a ppf install 100% perfect. I can always find something wrong with any job if I look for it. There is no perfect job. I will score myself with a 98 on most though. I do not do anything else and do one almost every day. On the other hand, the product is not designed to be studied from 8 " away either. What it will provide for most is Peace of Mind to actually just drive and enjoy your vehicle the way it is intended.......3M Certified
