I use to work at my family dealership . We had access to both carfax and autocheck. We find both carfax and auotcheck unreliable. Carfax and AutoCheck are not instant it takes about 2-3 months on average for AutoCheck and Carfax to receive title and accident records from the DMV/Police. When you buy a used car you or your mechanic should check for any bodywork such as any over paint, misaligned frames, Non-OEM parts etc
