My Active Q45 had bad supension problems and i needed it running in less than 3 days. Unfortunately i couldnt find a Nissan dealership(we dont have Infiniti) with the ability to diagnose with consult. Self diagnosis wasnt working and the clock was ticking..... You guys are gonna hate me but i ended up with some new Skyline GTR coilovers modified to fit. Cost me $2000AUD

Im about 80% happy with the ride but it is a tiny bit bouncy on some bumps.(seems like it might be oversprung?) I havent played with the damper settings yet , i think the workshop that did it set them too max hardness all round. If the rear dampening was too firm in relation to the front could it cause a condition where the front "bounces" slightly on some ripples and bumps in the road?

Thanks for your time

P.S I got a big box of active parts if anyones interested

im running r32 coilovers now and yes they are very bouncy, very suitable for the drifting application though. i hated active when sideways it made the car very easy to lose control of ...the coils are the ish .....what kind are yours ...

The only pics i have at the Q the moment are with some spare wheels that i normally use on my drift s13. They are actually a smaller rolling diameter than stock Q wheel/tyre

Ill get better pics when shes clean and has her proper wheels on

Oem non active front springs were only 146 pound inches and rears were 123.

The Q had +- 3.3" of shock range.

The active springs were 108 and 88 because the active supported [acted like a spring] up to 300 pounds per wheel body weight and had another 300 pounds in reserve to level in a turn.

Most coil overs will be way too stiff to achieve near oem ride.

What size wheels (offset/width/diameter) are those... My 350Z, 18X8's, 30mm offset, are to big for the 94 Q...

Thanks

As for active parts, well...... I know someone with an active who lives in the same country as you

(But I don't need any parts........ yet!)

You could run 255/50-16 in the rear for the correct rolling diameter.

Or 245/50-16 in the front only or all around. I know Q45tech was planning at one time on running 4 Z32 rear wheels and 255/60 all around when there were performance tires in that size.

Be certain the 225/50-16 have a speed rating of at least H and a load rating of at least 95. Should not be harder than 320 or preferably less, although impossible to compare across brands.
