THREE variations of the GTR - Will they all hit U.S. shores?
8:49 PM 9/10/2007
We're getting word that the GTR will be available in three specification levels and not just a single iteration as previously thought.
Tentatively badged as the standard model GTR, GTR V-Spec and GTR Evolution, the trio is a clear and obvious frontal assault on the Porsche 911, 911 Turbo and 911 GT3.
The GTR Evolution will have no back seat, carbon fiber hood and wing, more aggressive body cladding, some other weight-reduction goodies and 6-piston carbon-ceramic brakes.

i have a feeling that the evo spec will come out later... i read in a magazine that there will be a "lighter, spartan version coming out about a year later" have the mag sitting around here somewhere... seems slightly validated. I dont like the gt3 btw, its rwd vs 997 tt awd, and less hp, although lighter, looks riced out (yes a porsche can look riced out). And doesnt have the moving spoiler......... no brake cooling....... not very luxurious, slower 0-xxx times.... more money..... the list goes on and on. but resale value is better...
Self Demoronization Project, in works. http://list.mr2.net.nz/mr2/mor...id=19 And you thought i was stupid! In the human race, we all can't be winning right? does that mean were loosing? think about it...... NOT
What I find interesting about the 3 variations of the GT-R is in the price jump from the middle end to the high end variations (from like 60k to nearly 100k from my last look at msrp estimates)... That's pretty crazy, I suppose that there must be some crazy lightening and suspension changes between those variations.
And I see no reason that us in the USA would be short changed and not see all variations of the GT-R. I mean if it is the same engine (or basically) in all forms (yeah I know that one might make around 400 hp and the top will make probably around or over 600 - but the platform is very similar from my knowledge) then the emissions stuff would be taken care of. So I would believe it very possible to see every variation here!
1990 240sx -No longer fully stock: BRM 3" SS w/ resonator and dual tips, K&N air filter -215k miles and counting... many issues - almost ready to go under the knife...

carbon-ceramic brakes would suck for the street. the operational temperatures would only be achieve by very aggressive driving. they would also suck with wet weather. these brakes would be awesome for only dry track applications.
