I have a new M35 with 4500 miles on it.

Take a look at your M35 on-screen clock on your NAV screen at MIDNIGHT. When the time changes from 11:59PM to midnight, it DOES NOT READ 12:00am!! It will read "0:00". The 12 changes to a ZERO. I reported it to my dealer.

Another, and most annoying glitch, is at any time while sitting still or driving, my M35 NAV screen will FREEZE. If I have any music on, it will turn off and EVERY BUTTON ON MY CONSOLE below my NAV screen will freeze up and cease operating. Out of all these buttons, the only one that works is the CD eject. This includes the control buttons on the left side my steering wheel.

This has been a known problem for a while now according to the Infiniti Consumer Affairs Hot Line and they hope to have a resolution in the coming weeks. They gave me the impression that the M35 is NOT THE ONLY VICTIM in their car line up.

This happened twice to my M35x and the dealer said it they had seen it before and had to repace the entire radio including the main circuit board. No problem since then.

My screen lock ups started two months ago. I've lost count of the number of occurrences since. Infiniti did not authorize any repair and informed my dealer not to replace anything. Last Friday my angry call to Infiniti Consumer Affairs was met with a polite agent who acknowledged it was a known issue and they were close to a permanent solution.

I just posted (before I saw your topic) that I am having the same problem. M35 locking up b/c of the Treo bluetooth (at leat that was what I was told). Do you have a treo also or a different phone? Im really pissed off an Infiniti b/c they are STILL advertising the treo as compatible despite knowing about this issue for more than 6 months (According to service at Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys).

As a matter of fact, I do have a Treo paired up.....interesting.

One can only speculate the source of the problem but one thought just occurred to me. If that is the case, I will DELETE my treo-paired phone from the settings and see if it clears up.

My Treo has rarely worked and only for the first two weeks of ownership.

The other symptom of my NAV lock up is if the Air Conditioner is OFF before it locks up, it automatically turns itself on.

Also, if I do have the MAP mode up on the screen, including a route destination, the map DOES still work.

What I would highly suggest is calling the Infiniti Consumer Affairs line at 1-800-662-6200, provide them with your VIN# and get on their "list". At this point I'm becoming more patient and have been promised a phone call as soon as a fix is released to their dealer network.

Thanks for the Treo info. and I'll let you know if that works.

What happens next, does it go to 0:01?

Yes, it does go to 0:01. It goes back to "normal" at 1:00am.

BY THE WAY, ANDREW, I did delete my Treo 700W phone pairing from my car and IT DOESN"T LOCK UP ANYMORE!!!!

It has locked up so much I don't care about my phone being connected. Instead I'm glad that everything else works.

Since your dealer had to replace everything to fix it, that is likely why Infiniti isn't allowing any more repairs until they narrow it down more. If it is indeed only a Bluetooth issue, they can still offer a fix without replacing all that suff.

Nonetheless, I'm anxious for the release of the fix.

I'm having similar problems. According to my Infiniti dealer, the problem can be temporarily fixed by un-pairing your bluetooth phone (I also have a Treo...700wx).

Got a call today from the dealer. Infiniti just informed them that they are 2 months away from releasing a fix. Glad they have a fix coming, but rather disappointed at how long it is taking. ----Eric (2006 M45 Sport)

Just spoke with consumer affairs and they say the fix is out, and if your dealer is unaware they should call consumer affairs for information. My dealer just informed me they replaced the control unit, so we shall see if this one is the charm...this will be the second time in about 5 months.
