iacv cleaning problems

i followed the cleaning instructions for my iacv with one of the threads on this site..zerothread/251731

car started / burnt white and black smoke out of the exhaust... but that did not fix the problem.

i let it run for 15 minutes... turned it off to see if it would crank again.. and it started right up.. still a nasty idle

i reset the battery after that.. and now the car wont start any ideas?

another question.. if i completely blew my iacv would the car still start?

If the iacv was not working at all, you could still start the engine if you kept the throttle open a bit.

thanks.. well i found out that my fuel pump isnt working anymore.. i think the carb cleaner built up and put an opposite force of pressure when i tried to start the car.. and my weak *** fuel pump finally burnt out..

hmmm i was gonna use carb cleaner on my iacv, guess i better not lol, so did the new fuel pump finally fix the problem?

well i changed the fuel pump today.. car still didnt start... so i figured i blew a relay or something.. i changed the relay and the car started but ran like ****.. i checked my plugs.. completely black only a month old... i dont think the carb cleaner did this... im gonna open another thread

Well, its normal that your plugs were black, after adding too much carb cleaner (making the mix too rich) when cleaning your IACV

Also, before doing any more test, what is your idel speed, TPS voltage, battery voltage, fuel pump pressure, and ignition timing and coolant temp?

All these factors could affect your idle, even a low battery voltage, faulty ground or even a stuck power steering switch can cause these.

Also, is impossible that spraying carb cleaner on your IACV would damage your fuel pump.

well thats good news... please explain the stuck power steering switch... i have no belt on my ps pump and no fluid in it.. i need some more time for the voltage and all the other things because i dont have the tools for that here.... i appreaciate you helping me

what happened to you? maybe you can explain it better than me so we can find the problem..

a stuck PS switch will raise the idle speed to compensate the extra rpms needed for the PS pump to work.

Also, next time you clean your IACV, remove the plugs and crank the engine to clear the extra "combustible fluid"you just added.Also, remove the fuel pump fuse so you dont overflood the engine of fuel
