I want to buy an MAF upgrade for my Ka, soon to be Kat, but there are so many MAFS, Q45 N60, Cobra MAF, Z32, which is the best and easiest to wire?

What are your hp goals and what are you gonna use for tuning?

depends.. under 250hp, stay with the stock maf.. between 250hp-350hp go with the n60 maf.. anything above that i'd go with the z32, or cobra if you're going to be able to get it tuned.

I'm going N60 with 370cc's and an adjustable FPR for fuel control and that's it! No SAFC, that's right kids. Just a wideband and Greddy Informeter to monitor.

Are you just using a wideband o2 sensor and the informeter to read the wide band o2?

Nah, it only reads the factory narrowband. The wideband will be separate. The Informeter reads everything else you would want to know from the ECU:

Water temp.Oil Pressurethrottle positioninjector duty cycletiming in degreesnarrow A/F ratioRPMMPHintake temp

It's basically every gauge you would want except boost/vacuum

I have one in my car thats why I was asking if it was possible.

Doesn't display all that though. (in a S13) :

Water TempThrottle PositionInjector duty cuclyAFR (in ms)RPM and MPHBattery Volt... and thats about it.

I'm gonna check on what exactly it measures, I really want it for the injector duty cycle, oil pressure and timing. Have you played around with yours? I know it plugs into the CONSULT port, which sends the reading of every sensor on the car for the Nissan CONSULT to read.

Update: Greddy Informeter does NOT read oil pressure, which was one of the reasons I wanted it. Damn you Greddy!!!

If you're using the Z32 MAF (or any maf with the hot-wire sticking down the middle of the tube), you will have recirculate.

How do you expect the stock ecu to read the N60 MAF?

1. cut maf harness. 2. wire up new N60 maf 3. smoke em if you got em 4. enjoy working maf

The N60 is ~27% larger than factory370cc's are ~27% larger than factory

Therefore they cancel each other out and work very well together (in theory + a few first hand accounts)

Some say this setup leans out under boost, so an adjustable FPR could be used to up base fuel pressure.

I've decided to get a SAFC after all with 370cc's. By the time I got the N60 and adjustable FPR I could buy a used SAFC. Which I'm in the process of doing for 75$.

Well if that is the case why cant we use a z32 mafs and match it with a larger %corresponding injector size?

to bruinbear, u DO NOT have to recirculate with a z32 maf. to the OP, use a z32 maf and get an emanage or safc so that u can use that maf, or get your ecu tuned, or standalone. (sorry for the run-on sentence).

I don't know, I haven't even looked at getting a z32 since I'm only looking for ~220 to the wheels. N60 is plenty for that.

89-94 Maxima's have the N60. I think both the VE and VG motors have the same MAF...
