My convertible has 3 blown shock and need to be replaced. Where can I find them for a real good price. I have gone to advanced auto and auto zone and they both have qouted me $250 for all four. Right now the car is lowered on Tein-S springs and I want to have a decent ride to get me from home to work. I know that it will probably be a rougher ride with having lowering springs with stock shock, but right now with 3 blown 15 year old shocks ...it cant get any worse.

Danny.

If you want a better ride with that amount of money they are quoting you, all 4 Tokico HP Blues for $270 or so on ebay (where I got mine).

If you just want stay cheap, get the KYB GR-2 shocks, they are a OEM replacement shock and should be under $200 for all 4 easily.

please understand that the reason you've blown three shocks is the fact that you've got aftermarket lowering springs on there.

So taking that into consideration... make sure you get some new shocks that are designed to take aftermarket and/or lowering springs.

GR-2's are nice.. but if you can swing the cost.. AGX's are much better!

True AGXs are best out of the 3, the tokico's will do well, and GR-2 are just the same as stock (although I've had them hold up on lowering springs).

I was just mentioning the cheapest options.

I'd go either GR-2 or AGX. I think AZHitman ran GR-2 w/S-Tech and held up pretty good. Seems like Tokico is the least favorite among people.Niconick had a bad experience with Tokico recently, but he also used Sportline which drops too much.

That's the first I've heard of Tokico problem and yes I can almost guarentee is cause of the Sportlines (I know they drop to look good, but they are not a good spring rate).

I've had absolutely no problems with my Tokico's on Tanabe springs and its a better ride than I've had with Pro-Kits or Sportlines and GR-2s.

A set of KYB AGXs is usually cheapest on Ebay.
