I have an 03 sedan and every now and again the radio display goes blank and none of the controls work , except on the steering wheel. At the same time the "auto ac" kicks on and there is no way to control the fan speed or the temperature. I bought it in february and it only happened a couple times until recently. The past week it has been stuck like that more often than not. Even after turning it off for the night the next morning it starts up where it left off.

has anyone else had this problem? any quick fixes or am i going to have to pay the dealership to look at it?

Justin, see the responses that I got back under the posting "G35 Heater, A/C and Audio system wire loose?". I will try to call them tomorrow to find out if I can order the Radio HVAC part and see if that is something I can change myself. I will keep you posted.

I have an 03 G35 and currently having the same problem. This is obviously a problem and as of right now Infiniti is saying that there isn't a recall for this problem.

I contacted a dealer just today and the service manager mentioned that the 03's have this problem and that to fix it the "printed circuit board" must be replaced for a cost of approximately $ 300.00.

If you're interested, I'll give you the part number they gave me. Also, I couldn't find this part on the internet anywhere.

I also have a 03 cpe ,just got it fixed yesterday, mine was 4 days from warrenty experation. I was told same problem with 03 and 04 it is usually the board or radio or both. Mine was radio, again replaced at 32000 and now again at 41000. Sounds like Infinity has a lemon that they wont recall.

A lemon is a term for the entire car has problems...the G35 has relativly few major problems. Hopefully, they will send out a service notice for the head deck problems in the 03-04 models.

All, sounds like I have the same issue. Has anyone confirmed the issue, is it the RADIO HVAC CIRCUIT? Here's what happens, often when I start he car the climate and radio controls on the center stack stop working, this problem just recently started. The car is drivable and headlights work and I have found that if I shut the car off, and restart, it may then work fine.

I will take to the dealer this Wednesday, Please let me know if you fixed this issue, and if you had to go through the dealer, and for how much $$$. Thanks a bunch. I'll repost once I get some feedback from the Dealer next week.

Yes- I also have an electrical problem on my 03-G35. It started a few months ago. I went to the dealer yesterday morning with the problem. The service gal verified that the radio, A/C and speedometer console were dead, however by the end of the day, she called me and said, "everything is working fine". When I ask her what they did to fix the problem she said, "oh our mechanic could not duplicate the problem". So at this point they want me to come and pick up my car.. My warranty will end soon and my concern is that then I be stuck later with the same problem

Any suggestion would be appreciated!Thanks.

Update: Problem has been fixed The problem turned out to be the ignition switch...loose connection. My car was under the "Superior" extended warranty which, I would highly recommend.(The service manager felt Superior was even a better warranty then Infiniti's) Anyways, they replaced the ignition switch and no problems since.. I hope this helps. Thanks to all.

Keep the paper work from the service. If later same comes up you pull the paper and ask them to fix it since it was faulty before your warraty was over.

i never replaced a radio for this problem. the only reason i replaced the radio is for the radio display saying "err" or somethin other than its supposed to. i replaced circuit boards for you guys's problem all the time. and it fixed it.

I have a 03 coupe, and I seem to be reading a lot about problems with the radio. Since I dont have a problem with my car yet, is there any way I can prevent this from happening or maybe even delay it a little bit (since it sounds like a guarentee that it will break down on me...) To the people already facing this problem, what made it break? I get the impression that listening to burned CDs is a bad thing, so mostly I just have the radio on...

You say that you changed the radio, and you changed the circuit board. Are you saying either one of these will fix the problem? I'm sure the best fix is to change the circuit board, but with the radio, does the circuit board get changed automatically? Is it because you are already there, so may as well change the board too?

Last...if for some reason changing the radio will fix the problem, would changing the CD player do the same?

I have the problem with the A/C fan and Radio sticking on...but I also have two CDs stuck inside one of the CD player tracs. If I finally fix my CD player, will this miraculously fix my A/C-Radio problem?

Same thing happened to us. The dealer told us it was the circuit board. They replaced it and .... then said the new circuit board had "blown out" the radio, so they replaced the radio.

The dealer said Infiniti would pay for the radio. Well, ok, if it's not really a warranty/recall issue -- or is it? How many G35's (or other Nissans) have had this problem?

But, seeing some numbers here I wonder how my bill got to be $1000.

They billed us:$170 for labor (not surprising, probably a real pain to get to),$699.56 for "RADIO-28041-AM883", which sounds like a radio to me, not a circuit board, but what do I know?$70 for "HANDLING-600", No idea what that is, other than shipping?

That sound high to anyone?

Best,Jerry

I have a stock 2003 black radio deck for the BOSE stereo application that i'm not using anymore if anybody wants to buy it. I can ship with instructions on how to replace. It worked perfectly for me, but I changed it out when the CD player jammed like they do. I just installed an aftermarket stereo.

THIS WAS ON THE INFINITI WEBSITE, PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT THIS MEANS

ITB03-007b VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN 2003 INFINITI G35 SEDAN; AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARDOn some model year 2003 G35 Sedans manufactured through August 21, 2002, the audio and temperature controls may not operate as expected. When using the audio equipment or the temperature controls, the unit may become inoperative. In some cases, this can be corrected by turning the ignition switch off and back on again. In other cases, the unit remains inoperative and requires service by an Infiniti technician. To prevent this condition, Infiniti has initiated a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the audio finisher circuit board on these vehicles. Use Infiniti Net to confirm if a specific vehicle is affected by this service campaign (P3104).

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN.... ALSO ON INFINITI WEBSITE

None of my radio or A/C control works on my G35. How do I fix? This is a common problem on some 2003 G35 models. All of the radio and A/C buttons are inoperative. The program that controls all the buttons for the radio and A/C is not working properly. The system can be reset by disconnecting the car battery for about 30 seconds. The factory has design a new style of radio/A/C face plate to eliminate the problem. Please visit your local Infiniti Dealer.

The 03-04 radio is a piece of junk and Infiniti designed it to share the same circuit board as the AC. This is a common problem and the only fix is to replace it.
