Sure! Why not? I don't why anyone would protest that the emissions laws shouldn't be strict and helpful for the environment! :p

Ugh. Sorry about that, Floridians.

I understand the reasoning behind the emssions testing but I hate how they don't account for cars that pass even if they aren't stock.

My logic is, if the car passes the test quite well, don't bother opening the hood, nothing to be gained by it except for some really unhappy people.

A lot of souped up cars run so much better than the equivalent day to day daily driver thats been abused and neglected but even if the souped up version passes with flying colors and the neglected version just barely squeaks by, the souped up car is going to fail because of no tampering rules.

No tampering rules need to go away.

the day it comes to Texas is the day i buy a 25 year + 4x4 bronc, paint it natural camo and move into the hills near a remote town and become a paul bunyan-meets-bigfoot-style legend. every year, the townsfolk will elect the most beautiful 18-year-old girl from the high school's graduating class to act as an offering and temper my insatiable bloodlust for environmentalists and dr. phil fans.

God help them if they send me a fatty.

it'll only be a matter of time till you guys get the "surprise" smog check points like we do...

yeah, it looks like construction on the road...

till you get to the very end and find motor cycle cops and cops on feet telling the modified vehicles to pull over to the side of the road where the portable smog check ramp is.

they merge all lanes into 1 lane, so you can't get away, and if you do manage to bust a u-turn, the motor cycle cops strikes, like wolf on sheep that strayed from the herd

^^ no joke... we have these at random streets

I've seen it going the opposite way. Fortunetly I can pass the sniffer. It's the visuals that kick my ***. On all my 'toys'.

Ah, ****.

From reading, it seems to apply only to new cars. God help me if it doesn't, the RX-7 emits so many hydrocarbons your eyes water if you're standing near the back.

I know I'm missing some details. Is it wrong for Florida to adopt California's emissions laws? I haven't had ANY issues with them. Then again... I drive a ULEV II vehicle (GS350) and the G37 will be ULEV. I don't see what the bad points of all of this is... can someone please educate me?

(please don't take this post negatively, I'm genuinely wanting to learn and understand)

You can't leave my FD running in a garage or you'll probably die of poisoning.

If you buy a new car don't mod it whatsoever, then it won't really affect you.For those that do though, this is bad news cause it makes a lot of stuff illegal when it was fully legal to do so before.

Another trait of RX-7s: I parked my car in a parking garage waiting for my friend, and he found my car by smell. Trail lead right to me.

Well that blows. My residency is in Florida, even though I get stationed all over the place. Which means all my vehicles are registered there. As long as they keep it with the new vehicles, I'll be ok. If not, my KA-T is

I have no clue, and I really don't intend to find out...

I got a call the other day from my buddy, and he was like "hey Adrian, don't go on Moody st. in Cypress, they got a smog check point set up there. There was already a Corvette on the ramp, and a few more lined up"

At that point there would be exactly 0 reasons to live in Florida. Brilliant. They do actually want people to live there, right? As it is, the only bonus is lack of emissions laws. I can see implementing normal ones, but going California is lame.

Also, seeing other states adopt Cali idiocy is just a little frightening.I'm just glad my state is too busy trying to keep people from sinning to crack down too hard on emissions.
