After three runs at the track i got 16.9 @ 80mph. The car has hotshot headers ,2.25" exhaust, custom ram air intake, 17" rims and a auto trans on a de motor. Is this good, bad or normal. Are there any N/A guys that got me beat if so what mods do have??

Im guessing your rim size is killing your time. I did 15.8 with pacesetter header, some crappy intake, 3" catback , a 5spd and 15" rims.

i have a ka24e running 16.1 i have some homemade headers a custom cat back exstust and a hollowed out cat. then i ran a 15.6 after elimnating all the vaccum besides the nessiaties with the butterflies removed from the intake manifold and a ram air intake sounds like your car might not be running to its fulliest potenal

yeah, im guessing your not getting enough fuel, try getting some fuel injector cleaner, and before you race... heres my tips, what i do to make my car a second faster... run 104 octane, BLAST YOUR HEATER to the most

and i ride 17"back, 16" in the front... with FALKENS...

i run 15.5, with my '91 KA24DE, WEIGHS -2000 LBS.

what did you do remove the hatch hood and doors? My cars wheight is2860 with me in it and 1 12 and most of the interior. 1/4 tank of gas. :BS

OP you need to do a full inspection of your car, check everything you can without paying a dime then replace questionable parts...... A multimeter can save you thousands one car repairs.....

I replaced most of the basic stuff w/ all new parts. O2 sensor, spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor, z32 fuel filter, and all the fluids. The engine has good comprssion and doesn't smoke tap or hesitate. When i was at the track i used regular fuel and it was about 85 degrees w/ alot of humidity. My car should be faster but it just doesn't pull until it revs out to 3500. I ordered crower v2 cams and i have adjustable gears that aren't on yet. In the meantime what else can i check to get more performance.

I ran my car down the track about 2 years agoI made a 15.9 second 1/4 mile with my 93' hatch 5spd

Completely stock except for:1. 18" G-Racing Seki's2. two 12" speakers and an amplifier in the trunk3. and a badass vacuum leak.

not to forget I was a rookie driver.

ok not sure what thats about?????? his weaksauce *** time? it is an auto.... but still

check ignition timing(IIRC we have a great write up/how to)sounds like you have the vtac kick in from a bad cts, but it seems every time I suggest that I am wrong. lol but its a dynoed 28 hp loss lolthose cams are gonna wake up your car regardless of a bad cts though

smaller tires/wheels WILL help. check gap of said plugs?alot of little things can ad up to weak performance, tps, cts, knock sensorwhich brings me to this point.higher octane,WILL increase performance in a de seeing the ecu will advance until knock is seen, retard till its gone and advance again..... why did I write that lol boost it. done

You must have strong legs to be able to fred-flintstone your way down the 1/4 that quickly, because there's no way that car could have a motor/drivetrain in it and weigh that much.

I think we he meant was the floor, rockers, and rails are so rusted out that now it only ways 2000 lbs. You've never seen a hillbilly stump around in the back of a old rusted out pickup before a race? It knocks all the unwanted rusted metal and mud from under it freeing up in some cases a cows worth of wait.

gave up waiting for crower, just put 248/248 in about 40 minutes ago (it was a ***** but then again my first time doing cams)runs and drives fine, I'll try reving it a little higher later on tonite. What is a cts, does it control the secondary valves? Can i remove the secondary valves without having problems and more importantly will i get more power?

honestly that sounds a litle slower than what it should be, even with the A/T, deff not running right. Do a compression test, sounds like its not running right

I have a 97 A/T with intake, catback exhaust, suspension, but I havent ran at the track. Anybody with a fairly stock s14 run, I would guess high 15 at best
