Well I ran the extra manifold and bungs over to a buddy who is TIGish and he slapped them puppies on there for me. I like em. At $30 a piece those sumbitches aint cheap but I need the extra fuel. I have hogged out the inlet to accept the 60mm throttle and plan to polish it up real purty. 4 370s should satisfy my needs and I just so happen to have a set laying around.

Well. I have a target of 300hp and I have a high mileage bone stock CA18DET. If I was starting from scratch I would go standalone with proper main injectors but over the years I have acquired tons of electronics and it would be a shame to never use the stuff so I am using a silly amount of supplemental computers. The turbo is a T04E 50 trim, easily able to meet my power goals. It's bolted onto a divided cast iron top-mount manifold with a standard wastegate that is also capable for the power level I want. I have an HKS s-series intercooler that will handle my cooling needs and a Skyline 2-core radiator. I may wind up stepping up to an aluminum one though. I have a Vein Pressure Converter which is not made any more. It uses an air temp sensor and pressure sensor to provide an air signal to the computer so I have no more restrictive AFM.Now we have fuel, I won't be able to meet my power goals with stock injectors. Again, if I was starting from zero I would just get some kind of standalone but I have an Additional Injector Controller which I can use to run four additional injectors that will come online as the mains get to peak capacity. I also have tons of stock injectors so I will plug 4 more 370s in and with 2900+ccs of fuel on tap I can easily meet my fuel needs. I currently have an R33 Skyline pump which may not be able to keep 8 at full flow fed. I will watch my rail pressure for fluctuation.I do not recommend this way of doing things, it's incredibly busy and none of the parts know about the other so I have to be very careful setting this up and slowly increase my boost and fuel settings to avoid venting a piston. I had the stuff laying around anyway so the only extra expense is things like the bungs and the welding. For my FJ20 project I will get a standalone and proper main injectors, simpler and far more precise than this A-team special. I know the younger guys are flipping out but this old stuff works. We didn't have standalones and Power FCs and nifty intuitive stuff like now. You couldn't really mess with the ECU except with old PFC F-CON which at the time cost about $800. We blew through carbs and shutter-type flow meters, used welding tips in actuator lines, springs and compressor regulators to increase boost and subinjectors for fuel. The dark ages were time of manly men who could read spark plugs and had to feel the combo out. I am not remembering that fondly, it sucked but it does mean I still remember how to use this ancient ****

TMS i think the intake manifold looks rather interesting! I'd like to see this setup running once its done. A little different way of doing things but very cool non the less!

sorry im a little confused too, but what i got out of it was that instead of running 4 larger injectors (740cc) you are getting four more stock injectors(370cc)?

I'm sorry but I want to know more! I'm a sucker for old school stuff like the VPCs, AICs, and first gen all knob AFCs (I know new stuff is obviously better and more efficient), but hey you can't know where you're going unless you know where you've been, I love hearing about how they used to do things back in the day. (not trying to make you sound old)

bingo. I can't modify the ECU for larger injectors so I just add more that are run by a separate computer. When the first four max out the secondaries kick in and start helping.here is a good write up http://www.fd3s.net/aic_tuning.html

i must say, there is a place in my heart for true old school tuning solutions. you know it looks awesome when you have a massive array of 80s computers running your car. the only thing cooler is a blow through carb setup making ridiculous power.

Ask and she shall recieve. Goyu built this one. he hates Americans but even though he was at least polite the few times I have met him. This car clicks off low 10s.http://www.zcar.com/forums/rea...11014

He has his reasons if I was told the story straight. Plus remember the battle of Okinawa; almost every family here has been touched in some way by the events of WWII. He's in his late 50s I would guess and would have grown up right after this island was practically burned to the waterline. I give him respect when I talk to him and don't get chummy and he keeps it straight to business so it's all good. the man brings the pain with the cars he builds and they are created in a little shack on the side of the road. I enjoy reading his name in the mainland race stats. Little hole in the wall shop from the sticks comes up to mainland and steps on toes, that's ****ing cool in my book.
