Hi all,

I live in canada close to the border. I was wondering it's better to buy it here versus the states? I checked the sticker price and in the US is cheaper with the dollar rising.I was wondering what are the steps. Will Nissan Canada honour the US warranty? What type of modifications are needed to make it legal in canada? I hope i can get some help here. Thanks alot for the advices.

Can't wait to get my Z!!!

One of the problems I read from this forum was that you would have to get a US version wired w/ daylight running lamps-post a pic when you get your Z

Hi

In Canada their is currently only the grand touring sold by Nissan. The US sells I believe four models. I recently bought a 05 touring model roadster out of Boulder. It was cheaper than the prices here in Alberta area by about 6000 to 10000 grand. The warranty is an issue Nissan will only honour the warranty if the vehicle was bought in the US and registered there for 6 months.

good hunting

Hey,

Just bought my 05 GT2 (california car) last week from a reputable used dealership here in BC. They did all the work getting it into Canada. I still saved 10-15 grand.

Nissan Canada is one of 4 major manufacturers facing a billion dollar lawsuit in Canada for keeping prices high while discouraging people from buying in the USA buy threatening not to honor warranties, and for not honoring warranty work on cars bought in the USA and imported to Canada.

Im new to this website, and also live in Edmonton and work for Nissan. I suggest shopping around to some dealerships around here, quite a few are willing to bring in a car, any make and model from the United States, but some are just looking at you with dollar signs in the eyes. You might also want to check Dj auto imports, all they do is import from the US and Japan. As for the issue of warranty, chech with a service manager at one of the local Nissans, I havent seen any real problems with getting something covered, but not many us cars that come in have warranties left.

No, not all US vehicles are wired with DTRLs. Since many dealers are getting us vehicles at auction, as Ford is right next door, they are sending us quite a few vehicles needing installation of DTRL kits.

Hey, I'm also in Edmonton, and I'm really interested in picking up a 350z. Can anyone comment on the feasibility of running the car in the harsh winters? Thanks!

This site has the answers:http://www.riv.ca/english/html/how_to_import.html

Factor in all the costs before you make the decision, not 100% sure but I have read that Nissan will honour the warranty, I'd check with them first.

Snows are a must on a rwd car in the winter, even then I'd just buy a beater rather than drive one in Edmonton.

I did, bought an 06 Grand touring 19,000 miles in 07 for $21,900 mint, cashed in my dollars over par! Car was selling for $40-45k in Toronto, so I got it at almost half price, best thing I ever did! Call GABESTCARDEALS in Marietta Georgia, they will source a car for you!
