I just recieved my ARP main stud kit today and figured i would post up the part numbers so its not as difficult for others to order them. Please keep in mind this is for the CA18DET that has the crank girdle (the US CA18DE that came in the Pulsar NX SE does NOT have the crank girdle).

You will need:

(1) 10 pack of 300-8364 10mm 1.25 12mm socket .700 flange 12pt nuts... $43.51(1) 10 pack of 200-8592 10mm ID .850" OD Chamfer Washers... $12.19(10) AM4.125-1LB studs ... $5.59 each ($55.90/set of 10)

For reference, the studs are M10x1.50, require 3/4" thread engagement into the block, and need at least 2 5/8" over the block (that is girdle and bearing cap thickness).

Enjoy!Jason

EDIT: I just found my packing invoice, so the part numbers are 100% correct.

Both are correct. The BLOCK is a M10x1.50 thread, where the stud will thread into. The other end of the thread is the M10x1.25, where the NUT will thread onto. Hence the 2 different thread pitches.

BTW, i have installed these and they are absolutely perfect! Zero clearance issues with the oil pan. The ARP rep told me to just use their assembly lube, thread the stud into the block until finger tight (assemble the bearing caps and crank girdle), then torque all the nuts down to 60 ft-lbs, NO MORE. Then loosen them all a few turns, and repeat. He said to torque then loosen a few times, as it polishes the threads and gives a better bite. But he definately made sure to stress NOT to exceed 60 ft-lbs of torque, and be sure to use the proper tightening sequence, per the FSM.

just a NOTE for everyone. DO NOT ORDER THE CA18DET MSK from Hybrid Performance in Orlando FL. IT DOES NOT FIT!

I was under the impression that only the rod bolts/studs needed to be adressed if anything, whats your reason for going with uprated girdle studs/bolts?

Because when i was reassembling my motor, i sheared one right in half torquing it down. They are stretch bolts, same as the head bolts. And i couldnt get OE ones from Nissan, since the USDM Pulsar didnt have a crank girdle, those bolts are about 1/2" too short.

Im having no luck sourcing these studs... nuts and washers are fine, but apparently the part number for the studs have no refernce.

you wouldnt happen to have a contact who you sourced these through at arp? or know what engine the studs acutally come from??

possible to get a scan of that packing invoice? as evidence

With the part number of the stud on summit racing, the description says the top and bottom threads are both 10x1.5 is that right, or is it a mistake in the description? I am about to order these and don't want to order the wrong parts

Cheers guys

I have been in contact with ARP and asked them if they have a complete kit including all the parts as described earlier in this thread.

I have installed them and confirm that the kit 165-5402 is a 100% fit.

The link above take you to my english project thread where you will find pictures showing the main studs installed and tightened to 60ft lbs (81,4Nm).
