Question for Jerome

lol Jerome i have a few questions for you, after putting in my blue led's in my light strip i realized two things #1 they dont look so good and #2 its so blue i think it might be illegal and might get some cop trouble.

THey dont look too blue in the pictures but in real life they look a lot bluer and i think cops might gimme a hard time. I was wondering if Jerome your CCFL mod is really blue? and also how the heck you did it >< lol, was it difficult, expensive, time consuming? etc. thanks, also did you get PIAA extreme whites for your clear corners?

My CCFL tubes are "white". I got them from Ebay, see this link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...i%3D1.

As far as how I did it, I followed a DIY on (a competing forum). You can find it in their DIY section. It was pretty difficult and a real PITA. The overall time was about 8 hours, but that also included painting the inside housing black. Overall cost, about $20 for the CCFL tubes (already had a dremel and supplies). You actually need two sets of those CCFL tubes. Each comes with one power supply and two lights. You need to power supplies (one for each side). If you do it, just take your time and pay very close attention to detail. And, DO NOT clean the inside of your headlight housing. It has some sort of protective coating on it. (I found out the hard way).

And, yes. I got my PIAA Xtreme white bulbs for my clear corners and my blinkers (I got rid of the amber AND turned them into ONLY blinkers - not on with headlights). Here are some pics.

Hey ugh one more thing, will cops pull you over for this mod? the (a competing forum) DYI says it is illegal but does anyone know if cops will be anal about it and give you a fix it ticket, because this mod seems a irreversible.

yah i think i just might do it, i just hope i dont get screwed by the cops cuz then i might needa get a whole new housing ><, also have you ever considered the 06 projector lenses mod?

The stock headlights project more than enough light for me. So, its not something that I care too much about.

I figured I might jump in on this thread as well. Jerome, what percentage is your tint at (if its the OEM, do you know)?

Window tint? I'm not exactly sure, because it was on the car when I bought it. But, I'm pretty sure its only 35% all around. I really need to have it re-done, but its low on the priority list.
