What the heck is wrong in Blacksburg?

OK, so shootings on campus are ghey to the max... This is our second shooting incident this year. We have also had several bomb threats interrupt things as well.

If i knew it was going to be like this i would have gone to UMCP where at least I'm closer to home.

I'm not really upset that some nut job is running around with a gun though... Its more me being hella pissed that they send emails telling everyone to "stay put"... when they could just as easily issue a 'campus wide lock-down notice' and people would A) take it seriously and B) know exactly what to do as such terms are self explanatory.

I don't know about others but i feel a shooter running around is reason to cancel classes. Kind of like passive support of making sure this person gets caught. Ironically I did want to go to class today before I knew this stuff was going down.

Thats ridiculous. Kind of makes me wonder if i should go to NADC or not. There's many Car Thefts there and its in the middle of the GHETTO.

Update -- they have incrementally implemented every aspect of a Lock Down scenario without actually saying those words....

Perhaps there is some higher up motivation not to use such a blanket measure with the connotations associated with it.

What I dont get is that the news is saying that it was one gunman. but the shootings were on opposite sides of campus....

So Kouki, how long was the guy loose? and How long does it take to walk from Johnston to Norris??

Only takes 10 minutes to get from Ambler Johnston to Norris. Assuming you're walking fast because its balls cold and windy out. So that in itself does not make it hard to believe one person was responsible.

I'm rather surprised at the extent of the shootings... I was expecting a MUCH smaller scale to this turn of events. Very sad, I hope no one I know was hurt.

Man, i heard about it later on after i had been talking to you. I sat in Study Hall when the teacher turned on the news and i had said i was talking earlier with someone from there. What is the story now?
