Don't like the grill of the Camaro... and if they're gonna do a T/A with the screaming chicken on the hood - it needs to be bigger... don't care for the twin scoops either - liked the shakers I had on mine.Still, I can't wait to see what a production one looks like and to drive one. May consider a purchase during the SECOND model year!

I'm usually not a Firebird fan (2nd gens were extremely hot, though) but I like that one. The fastback and tall haunches are SEX.
Get rid of the hood scoops (Does Pontiac pay ANY attention to feedback about their styling? At all? Ever?) and the stupid hole/gouge/crease/whatthecrapisthat on the fender/door tops and it's pretty much perfect.I love the quad lamp headlights. Now, the question is:
Is this really what it'll look like? Or an "artists conception"?

Not one body panel looks the same.
Totally different roofline.
Different b-pillars.
One's fastback, the other's not.
Doors are completely different.
NOT the same car with different bumpers.
Try "same platform with different bodies."

That'd be okay. If it's from 1984, it'll be knobs and levers. If it's from the 90's it'll be buttons for everything. Early 90's Silverado "climate controls" FTFML.

While neither are my style, I think they could've done much worse. The overall design would work should they be coming out this year, but if they're projecting 2011, then they really need to up their game. They will be hopelessly outdated four years from now. And I agree, the TA definitely stole a few styling queues from the Corvette.As an aside, I wonder if XAT will try to graft that front end onto their 240.

I actually don't mind it, though IMHO they need to clean up the goofy fake rear diffusers. Too busy. I find it ironic Burt Reynolds is pictured. If you compare Burt now to how he looked in the original movie, and then compare this concept to the original Bandit car, they both look like their faces have been stretched and pulled back too much... I think if they dump the vomitting chicken hood decal, 'da car aint bad. Of course, if GM builds them as crappy as the last ones, they won't last long.

GM garbage or not, Gm has consistently given this market away to Ford. They need to get off their a**es and build something to challenge the mustang. They look okay. Personally, I love it if Nissan started building the 240 again, the exact same body and all. That'll probably never happen though.

Dude. Smokey and the Bandit. Sheesh! The new T/A seems to share a lot of the lines w/ the Corvette. I mean, the rear window design, the rear valance, the sloping hood. Eh. Way to look to the future GM.

They all look like very similar cars in different costumes to me. The Pontiac is almost a clone of the Corvette.

Although they do look very similar, you can tell a big difference if you look closely. Where the corvette is a 2-seater, you can see that the rear end past the glass is longer, and the cabin is smaller. The Pontiacs glass is just the rear window, more than likely not a hatch. The Corvettes front-end is more blunt, and the Ponticas comes to a point. Although the roofline looks the same, the side windows are completely different. The Pontics front-end is much taller than the Corvettes, which slopes down. The Pontics front windshield is raked back further than the Corvette's. Although they're similar, they're both very different cars. They're not different enough to justify building a new T/A though. GM is trying to play the heritage game with the Camaro and T/A. They're hoping all the baby boomers that remember these cars from they're youth will start picking them up like hotcakes when they come out. I believe they could've done much better, but they could have been much worse.

I'm disappointed in both cars. Frankly, i don't think they hvae a chance in hell from grabbing the market back from Ford with the retro muscle car market. Thank GOD Corvette is it's own seperate wing inside Chevrolet/GM. Otherwise, it would get shafted on everything styling wise too.

the vette and LSx motors are the only saving grace of GM. Most everything else sucks.

The New gen TA does look OK, but not as good as the camaro. As for previous gens, I cant believe no one has said anything about the 4th gen (98-02)Trans Am WS6, one of the best styled cars out(even currently).....and GM F-bodies if NOT beaten the livin **** out of(well even if you do...daily), will last quite well, the LS1 is bulletproof. Ive owned my WS6 for 5 yrs and had only 1 sensor problem(35 bucks).....cant complain with that on a car that does consistant LOW 13 sec 1/4s and OVER 300 RWHP....as for the new gen, i think one of the downsides will be the weight and the radical styling(might be a love/hate deal)
