I have the same problem. It doesn't happen often. Usually if I'm trying to fill the tank before a long trip starting with the tank more than half-full. When it occurs the car in not level, but slightly low at the corner with the full filler. I can fill the tank by s l o w l y adding gas.

this happened to me on a loaner car (2006 sedan). the tank was 3/4 full and i had to fill it up. i think i pumped about 20-30 to fill up the tank.... maybe it's a design defect....

Your dealer did not properly fix the problem so I would take it back. I have a G coupe that I bought new in 2/05 and this same thing started about two months after I bought it.

The problem is with a valve sensor in the neck of the fuel tank that thinks the tank is full so it shuts off. When my problem happened it was before they new about the valve so they replaced my entire fuel tank and I have never had the problem happen again.

Take it back and tell them the valve sensor still needs to be fixed. If that doesn't work then worst case scenario make them replace the entire tank under warranty. That should solve the problem.

sorry guys...no fix for this problem...its the design of the tank...kinda retarded.

i've replaced gas tanks for this and it still didn't fix it...and sometimes its the pump pumping too fast...

I disagree. Replacing the entire tank fixed my problem. So I don't know what to tell you.

To say it is a design flaw and to live with it is unacceptable. Take it back to the dealer and have them either fix the sensor or replace the entire tank.

This is something you spoke to with dealers? (about the design flaw) I've had no problems so far with mine, if it was a design flaw it would be present on all vehicles.

I just brought my 03.5 sedan into the dealer for my major service at 60k. I had the same gas tank problem. They did a recall on my car and performed a

Fuel hose recall--replacing fuel hoses. parts: gasket-catalyst -20692-65j00 Bolt kit -37120-AL625 Hose Vent -A7226-AM63A

Mail Fuel Sensor-- replaced parts: Sender Unit - Fuel Gau- 25060-AM600 Ring-O Fuel GAG- 17342-01A00

so far, im still on my first tank of gas. I haven't refilled yet, but i'll keep you updated when i re-fill my tank. Im getting a little bit better mileage atleast. No more 200 miles per tank.. i getting a whomping 220! wish i had a normal G and get 300 per tank.

the only reason i say it is because it does it on just about pdi i did on the 06's. all of them are different...i've had some have no problems...and i've had some where the problem won't go away... replacing the gas tank does fix it on some but not all

i had this problem as well on my coupe when i first bought it. first time i filled it up i had to go thru almost 1/4 tank with it stopping and going and i probably looked like a dumb *** out there at the pump. i quickly learned that if you don't put the nozzle in the whole way, it'll keep going, something a little inconvenient and you have to play around with to figure out where that sweet spot is. if i remember correctly, the problem eventually went away when i tried putting the nozzle all the way in. i could be wrong tho so don't quote me on the problem going away, i only drove it for 3 months and i havent seen her in 3 months as its sitting in a garage for the winter.
