steering rack

hey evrybody. alright im an intruder, but i have a good objective. im an infiniti M30 owner and im doing a vg30dett swap. the prob ive run into is that my steering rack is hitting the drivers side turbo. if i can find a steering rack that has a better size then id be cooking. the 300zx gives me another1.5inches but i still think its alittle short. this is a pic of the measurement i need. and im wondering if the 240 has a bigger space here. if someone could measure their 240 rack for me then id show much respect . or if anyone as an idea how to get around this little prob im open to sugestions. thanx

I have a 240sx, The steering rack where you mesured from is 5 1/2", it is on a left hand drive, from the way your pic is taken it looks like its right hand drive. I would think that the silvia rack would mesure the same as the 240. I hope this info helps.

that is definately a left hand drive vehicle...you dont need to go find anything left hand drive.

There are a couple of post where a guy did a vg30 swap into an s13 chassis. You should search for that thread. It may talk about the custom work required. You may need a custom elbow. The sr and KA motor elbows are much high up so we just slide our down pipes up between the wall and the steering shaft.

thanx guys for the help.this is a left drive car the racks on the backside of the Xmember. it sounds like the rack in the 300 and the one in ur 240 are bout the same. i guess ill get one of them on make it work. id like to have a litlle more distance but jus cant win them all.
