pretty nice vid... i was hoping it wasnt gonna be like every other video where it just shows the motor idling and the person revving it.... looks like it could use a lightweight flywheel though... nice car!

Are you guys saying i need a lightweight flywheel because it takes a while for the revs to drop? I think i got that sorted out now. I just installed a larger Throttle body and it was sticking a little.

If you don't mind me asking...from whom & much did you pay for your CA18DET? A while back I wanted an SR20det, but not I'm not sure about it now considering that I have seen so many hooked up and being "FOR SALE". I like the idea of KA-t also.

ok vid. Didnt really show the power of your car and Im sorry you got the goat sh*t brown.

Also the guy above the CA swap runs about 1500-1800 the SR runs 2000-2500 and KA-T is about the same as the SR.

Dude I hope that's not compressor surge I'm hearing. You need a BOV if you don't want to blow that turbo.

Ya thats compressor surge. At 7 psi the CA turbo handles it just fine. That how it came stock.

Nice vid but I think i'd take my playing to a little more secluded spot with less traffic. It looks like you were doing that right in a neighborhood? Just my .2

Yep that was my neighborhood. I did it there to piss off the STI owner in the red house. I never really went past 30mph and the limit is 25mph so i think it was all good. If it had been dry and i could get traction i would have taken it somewhere that would have permitted higher rates of speed

Edit* I actually raced that guy with the sti once on the interstate up to about 6500rpm in 5th gear. (not sure how fast that is seeing as my speedo only reads 110mph) He had me by no more than a fender the whole time. I was suprised my little CA could keep up.

154-158mph. ............ It's easy math. Your speedo should read 72mph at 3k rpm. 3*2 = 6; 72*2 = 144. ~ 24mph/1krpm ratio; Cross multiply or just use common sense to get 24/1000 = x/500; x=12 so 144 + 12 = 156mph.

Yes I just did all that in my head and yet I still fail calculus......

You can also use the real formula to figure it out exactly based on gear ratio's and tire size. But it's only 2-4mph different at most, so it's not worth bothering with.

Of course if your tire sizes are different than stock your speedo will read different at 3k rpm than a stock car would. You can figure that out on your own.

ya i doubt i was going that fast. My gear ratios are way different than stock. The CA trans has a shortened 5th gear. I have 225/50/15 tires and a J30 diff. So calculate that math boy. J/K But thats why i never give a mph when i tell peeps about that race.

Thanks guys i just bought an Old school JDM Prof. Sheepdog 2.75" cat back exhaust. I already have a 3" down pipe /test pipe so this will be a perfect fit. I'll be sure to post up a video when i install it.

Thats a slow STi if you kept up seeing how STi makes 300 hp stock... and the CA makes 180 stock.

How i kept up the world may never know. You can ask the other two peeps in my car or the other 3 in his... It was from a 60mph roll also. If he launched on me i would have been roasted. But lets not start this into a street racing thread. I hate it but he thinks no one can keep up with his sti and i just had to open his eyes a little.

STi HP/Lb- 0.0919 (300/3263)S13 w/ CA18 HP/Lb- 0.0669 (180/2690)

Also the STi cant launch at 60 MPH... AWD only helps at stops. But as you can see either that wasnt an STi and just a WRX or he cant drive, or he wasnt really trying. Unless the people in his car were very over weight.

Also my buddy owns an STi the 04 Model and when he was stock he could beat my SR on 14 psi. Now I have 300 whp and he can still barely beat me. Hes putting out 370 whp.

Trust me after the "race" we stopped and talked at the next light. Needless to say he was very surprised i kept up and I know he was going for it. Why would you want your car to look slow in front of 7 people when you think your car is top ****. Also it is an sti he just has a wrx trunk because some Douchbag tossed a pumpkin from a moving car at his trunk on mischief night.

Aslo who are you telling that AWD only helps at a stop? In my previous post i Clearly state the only way i even had a chance was from a roll because if he launched which really is self explainitory of a dead stop take-off i would have been beaten by alot worse. Also please note i did not win the race. I was only able to keep him within a car for the whole time. 60 to say 125 or so...
