D = dual cam, if there isn't a D in the name its a single cam (or it can have a V for nissans varriable valve timing system)
E = electronic fuel injection\
T= turbo, TT means twin turbo
R=supercharged
The number signifying the displacement, and the first two letters being the engine family
so a KA24 is a carbed single cam
KA24E is fuel injected single cam
KA24ET is fuel injected single cam with an aftermarket turbo kit
KA24DE is a dual cam fuel injected 2.4 liter KA engine
KA24DET is the above with an aftermarket turbo kit.
ect ect...Each engine has its own subforum, try reading those and searching more to save your self some embarrassment 
Also please post 240 questions in the 240 section...thats why they made it.

I had a stock ka24de engine with an aftermarket mani with a hair dryer on it....
Ka24det are very easy to find........then I wake up......

well, i guess ill be the one to flame ya... although i ALSO think your newbieness is entertaining... the KA24DET is a made up name we use to call out turbo KA24DE's, nissan never offered it turbo'd from the factory, hence you'll never find a unmodifyed ka24det, cause thats impossible... lets see though, a stock KA24DE might make 135hp at the wheels, my T25'd KA24DET makes ~190whp, maybe SLIGHTLY more... and its a TINY turbo... now for some smileys --->

just do this: Right click on the image you want to hyperlink and click properties, highlight the URL (aka website) and right click on it and hit copy and then paste the image in between the quotation marks <img src=""> and voila! Booty shakin' Smiley Edit: like here is florida's sig car
