  For people selling Skylines

Updated 18January06

I would like to get something going here for people selling Skylines there in the states, but I would like to ask for a little co-operation in regards to selling them.

My biggest concearn is that cars being advertised as federally legal should have copies of all paper work suplied to the prospective buyers. I know this is going to make it hard for you to sell your car, but it will also help with preventing scam sellers.

Another thing. If you are selling grey-market cars or cars that are only state legal, please be sure to tell the buyers that your car is not federally legal, for off road use only/not registerable. Not only does it protect us here at NICO in case of a bad sell. It also protects YOU.

You should be careful when puchasing one of these cars for the simple fact, that if you are going to spend that much money on one of these cars, you need to make sure the car you are getting is legit.

If we can get enough people to follow these rules, along with the seller providing all the information to the buyer, I will make a stickey for this forum just for the purpose of selling Skylines.

Thanks

-Neal

Update 19/FEB/08

Due to some posts in the recent past, I would like to include the following.

Unless your car is a MotorEx car, has a bond release and is totally compliant with federal rules and regulations, please to not state that your car is legal.

If you have a state registered car, and it's not a NHTSA comliant vehicle, it's not legal by any means, no matter how you look at it. So please, if you are trying to sell a Skyline that doesn't meet the requirements of the NHTSA, please do not list it as "legal".

Also, be sure to let your prospective buyers know that your car is a grey market vehicle.

I only say this as a way to protect your best intrests.
