Ended up going with a 6000K setup for my 300ZX. The kit was really straight forward and essentially plug and play. There were no problems with the bases on the bulbs or anything they were spot on. Other than mounting the ballasts there wasn't much to it with this kit.

The kit....

The bulbs....

Some install and fitment work...

Joe holds the light of the world!

HID bulb vs. Sylvania standard halogen 9006

Illumination is excellent and the bulbs are not blinding and have a distinct cut off line. Its hard to pick it up in the picture but there is very little to no unwanted glare.

Here are the pix of the kit I received

The Box (Big Deal)

The box Open

The Kit

The Ballast

The kit appears well packaged and complete, the instructions appear straight forward and easy to follow. The ballast is a cast frame with pressed top and bottom plates attached via screws in the corners and no cooling fins. The fitting at the bottom left in the pic of the ballast looks like a threaded nut fitting of some type but is really a thin metal crimp fitting.

I'm not sure what effect, if any, the things I've pointed out here will have on the performance of these HID light kits. These are just my honest opinions/observations on the the kit I received.

Here is where I mounted the ballasts...

These were taken with a little Kodak Easy Share CX6330 3.1MP camera.

Enjoy

Well, I wanted to get a true comparison happening, so I called a buddy who has some PIA super white halogen bulbs and got a little photo shoot going to see just what kind of gains I had gotten from this kit.

Halogen : (yes his lights are on)

HID:

Halogen Left, HID Right :

I've since gotten them aimed a bit better. and the out-put is better because of it. You can make your own conclusions.

That and H.I.D's are far superior when it comes to vehicles lighting. 100x better at night, cleaner and crisp looking. I recommend them for anyone.

HID kits aren't cheap, but if you shop around there's good stuff for good prices out there. Check out the NICO sponsors, several of them can get you kits

they aren't bad.. around $100.00 off ebay. Get them from a seller by the name of PipiStuff...I've bought many from him. work great look great. Don't pay $500.00 for a name brand hid kit..it isn't worth it. You won't be able to tell a difference unless you retrofit the proper lenses/glare guards. Happy Modding!
