I decided to do a vac/boost leak test today just to make sure all my IC couplers where tight and to my surprise i had a leak somewhere else. The whole time a had my swap too. Everyone check the pic i attached and make sure if your tid has a hole in that spot you should plug it with a screw and silicone. Car runs alot better now that i plugged up this leak. Check it out i have the hole circled in red. It already has the screw in it in the pic.

mine had some kind of a hose plugged in there. then i made myself a hard intake pipe and simplified my vacuum lines so the car only uses 3. i would highly reccomend it as it cost me a total of about $12. autozone exhaust tubing ftw!

when i got my motor set nothing was connected to that hole so i didn't even realize there was a hole there. Just wanted give people a heads up that there is in fact a sizeable hole there.

that hole is metered, filtered, unboosted air source for the butterfly control system (it 'vents' the vacuum through this to let the butterflies open).

the hose goes to a metal pipe that stands off the turbo, continues on another hose to another pipe around the back side of the head, and then more hose over to all the rest of the control system.

Only if you bother to set it up correctly with the solenoid and check valves and all.

If not, you may was well keep it as you have it.

Sorry I didn't draw that. I assumed you saw it in the FAQ Sticky thread.

And an admireable job at that. Nice work.
