It's definately worth driving there if you have an oil consumption problem. An oil consumption test needs to be started at the dealership.

condensation dripping from the exhaust is normal....but on the other hand it sounds like valve seals or rings on one of the cylinders is bad...had a few g's that came in with oil comsumption problems and had to put short blocks in 'em. one even got a long block...take it to the dealer

Some of the G35 use extreme amounts of oil most do not!

UP TO YOU TO COMPLAIN and start oil usage diagnostic proceedure to prove that engine uses more than 1.00000000000000 quart per 1,000 miles.

The dealer will fill and seal drain and you are required to return every 1,000 miles for a measurement and documentation.

The PERSERVEREING OWNER GETS THE PRIZE a few free engine replacements.

do you work for infiniti?

I went there few times and told them about metal noises coming from engine, also very low oil after 1000miles, I request an oil test, and he said there nothing he can do, then is normal for this car to burn quater oil every 1000miles. and just leave it like that, if the engine blows up you still has warranty. what can I do?/

I personally would get rid of a car that's burning 1 qrt per 1000 miles if I couldn't get the dealer to replace it.

I would consider getting rid of it if it were buring 1/2 qrt per 1000 miles.

Never had cars that went thru oil like that, never will.

Just me.

Whether an engine is replaced is totally up to Nissan the dealer just reports what they find and results of testing. Nissan makes the decision on dealer and your input.

You want the dealer to be as much of an advocate for you as possible, which is why you visit and have them make a little money off you, so when Nissan asks if you are a good customer and have done what you should have they say YES and they think you deserve special consideration.

Being a no profit bitchy customer will leave it totally up to YOU to deal with Nissan. Dealerships feel a little more obligated if they sold you the car......why the 12 month/12k adjustment period.

^absolutely!! I make friends with the guys in the parts dept, sales dept, and service. We recently got a great deal on some tires thru the guy in parts, so the wife took the service advisor a batch of warm cookies to share with the guy in parts. When my son's gf's I30 needed some major front end work done, I asked the service advisor if he could find a coupon book for her to use, he took 15% off the bill for her. Saved her over $250.

Is taking cookies a little too much??? Don't know, but when I asked if I could take the new Nismo Z out for a while with the wife, they handed me the keys......

At the time this happened my car was at 67k out of the 70k power-train warranty

I hate Infiniti.. I went to the dealer for an oil consumption test. First the dealer told me I was out of warranty.. so I pointed out that it has a 70k powertrain warrany.. "Oh yeah - I forgot about that" then they said they did not have a loaner.. so I made an appointment for a loaner. When I went in for my test they said they could not give me the loaner because I was under 21... I then showed them my ID that said I was 23.. they did not look happy. Then the head technician proceeded to tell me (without inspecting my engine) that it was PCV valve and that it was not covered under warranty, it would cost $1500 to replace the whole intake manifold.Plus! if I wanted the oil consumption test and it came out negative then I would have to pay for the test. They had already basically told me that it was the PCV valve so... Tuff luck..

This was all at Infiniti of Coconut Creek in South Florida..

THE WORST INFINITI DEALERSHIP IN THE WORLD.

You should just take to the dearler ship. It might just be a seal or something with your water pump. Are you lossing power when you drive? As far as the black water coming out it's normal as long as it not oil coming out. Another thing that you can do is check the value where the oil filter go's in. Sometime you need to replace the black seal. That's if you do the oil change yourself because if you take it somewere they will change it for you. Hope that help's

I just changed my oil for the first time, I had it done already by a shop in town, now, when I checked it, it was at the bottom of the shaded area above the L, when it was changed, I assumed it was full, I just put in Mobil 1 and it is at the top, I plan to monitor it myself to just forget the dealers altogether, Every 1000km starting today, I'll be taking precise measurements,

I just went thru the oil consumption test. Although I would have qualified for a new engine 2yrs ago when my G was using 1qt per 1000 miles. It was 12mm low after 3100 miles. According to Infiniti's TSB it needed to be 18mm low.It took a long time for Infiniti to recognize the oil consumption problem in the G35.
