02Q45 sport. Finally have the Parrot Bluetooth Car Kit installed yesterday. I had tried to order a custom harness but there's not one out there. There is for the older Qs. The phone comes over the the center speaker as opposed to the hole system. I have a treo 650 and so far it works very well. the mic is mounted up next to the car mic. The parrot control panel mounts nicely in the ashtray.

Also had a Bulldog Security remote starter installed. Black interior and those hot California afternoons just "demand" that the a/c be running before I get in the car!!!!!! yeah, a little sarcasum(sp) especially since I grew up in Texas!!!The only problem is you have to kill the engine when you get in and restart with the key. This was confirmed from a post on "the 12volt.com forum"

Cost $100 for the parrot and 150 for the remote. THe shop was AUDIOSPORTS in Folsom Ca and he did a good job.

as a side note, I had given him (5 days in advance of the install)about 30 pages of variuos pieces of info about the parrot and the remote that related to the 02Q. special problems and their resolutions. At 6:30 he comes out and starts to tell me about the key issue. He was very polite and I said, yes, I knew about that, It was in the post I had included in the packet. (a post from the12volt.com site I got his name from) He admitted He had not read it. so I get to waste 1 1/2 hours will he "discovers" something I had given him. Now I had written a very polite cover letter, explaining the difficulties that had gotten me to this point. I then had tabbed the issues in a hard file folder (think lawyer brief) We all complain about dealers and shops "not listening" but this really took the cake.sad part is, his price was VERY low compared to other bids and he stuck to his qoute withuot one comment. Had he just taken the 15 minutes to review the material, he could have made money and not lost money on the job. I would still recommend him to anyone in the northern CA area.

I have a Treo 650 phone that I use as a Navigation device. (my car is non-nav. ) that "bracket" above the cord is where I mount the phone to see the Navigation screen. The Treo only "sees' one BT at a time. . the gps unit is NOT a BT. so I had to hard wire it into the treo. the cord plugs into the treo The cord is both a gps conection and a power cord for the gps and the treo.

However, i think the better route is a seperate Nav unit. like Garmin 350.small and all inculsive. no downloading of maps etc.

So in a month or so the cable will be gone.
