  co2 sprayer

iv been thinking about it for a long time and i wana do this. instead of paying 3-400$ on a co2 kit or nitrous im gona make a system with 2 paintball c02 tanks to either go to my intake or intercooler. im not gonna use it like nitrous but as a cooler for hot days or track events.i made this rough sketch of where to put the bottles because i know they cant be to hot or they will explode which my friend found out the hard way. i figure i can wire up a small computer fan to point at the tanks which would run when the car is on. i think i wouldnt need that if i put the tanks in the little space behind the rear seats under the rear deck.i havnt figured out if it would be better to run the line into my intake tube or get a sprayer bar of some sort for the intercooler or radiator.i need help from you guys on the fittings i need to get, probly from summit racing.il find out the size of the top of the co2 tank so that wont be a problem unless someone on here knows that size from using them.

Crack ......Just wondering havent heard of anything like this. Closes thing i have heard of is the water sprayer.......Just looking out for you bud. Dont want a cracked intercooler rad. or what ever you using it on. Asides from that sounds sweet.

well i decided im gona use this as an intercooler sprayer.here is alink to a ford thing where they used the cryo2 kit and got 8hp and 7 degree celcius cooler from using there intercooler sprayer. my main question is for people who have nitrous kits or know what is needed to install them. i need to know what i need besides lines and the bottles and im gona use a remote bottle opener. what els will i need?solenoid? this will be asimple setup and shouldnt cost much. i WILL do a write up on this if i cant get peoples help for a parts list.so keep the info coming guys i am serious about this.

Perhaps consider using a propane grill burner, that should get it atomized pretty well and on the cheap

ok i was thinking of something like this too heres what i think would work u can buy tops for ur tanks that u can turn on and off before u take the tank off so u dont lose valuble co2 so how about u get two of those and hook them onto ur tanks now u get 2 paintball guns that dont work or just get the thing where u insert the co2 tank and take the old line off get a longer line and run it to some sort of sprayer and when ur not using the co2 just unhook them and leave the lines and when u do want to use them u can hve them in ur car and turn the valve on and ur thing will be ready ill try to see if i can find the things u need i think itll work and its way cheaper

theres a diagram i made it now but if u made the lines a little longer and ound a descent sprayer i think it would work great using the parts off the paintball gun will be easier since u can just screw it on and off and the new valves can be used to turn it on and off so the fan wont be needed since u can just unhook the tanks that easily i think its a great idea and some tnks now adays come with the on/off valves already so its the parts for the paintball ull need which i think can be found really easily the hose and connections are probally going to be the hardest things to find and i can guarantee this will be cheaper than buying a system and the valves can be adjusted so u dont have to have all the air leaking at once if someone trys this let me know how it turns out this looks like a better diagram

intake spraying is iffy, but intercooler spraying is not... its done all the time actually. ive seen HP gains on the dyno up to 50whp before... it just supercools the air going in and makes the molecuels jump closer together making more air PSI enter the engine

While looking at this I had another idea. It may have been tried but deals with co2 cooling. What if you made a device that wrapped around an intake that holds co2. Like a sleave.

For instance, take the end of the intake nearest your throttle body and put another sleeve over it with space in the middle. Then inject co2 into it. Every once in a while purge the old and let the new cold co2 in.

Would this work?

i see where ur gettin at here but intercooler spraying is less dangerous another update u can get co2 tank adapters for 10 dollars each and there from tippman one of the best guns out there so lets do the math

valves-30
tank adapter-20
lines-??(anyone have a clue)
sprayer-i saw one on ebay for 100 but im pretty sure u can make one
tanks-depends how big u want the tank its 50 for 2 20oz tanks
brackets-20
total-i would say around 200 for everything

which is half as cheap and the amount of aire u want out can be adjusted like i said before the hardest thing will be the lines and hookups to fit the tank adapter to the sprayer

i dont think that will work as good as the co2 becasue it sprays water i dont know though i think the co2 would be better ive been lookin at cryo2 kits and there not as expensive as ithought 300 will get u a good one with the tank and the thing about that is u have all the stuff electrical and what not but the tank on those are huge and its gonna be hard to store those massive things

yeah but this is prolly safer, and I was thinking you could prolly fill the jug up with water and ice, so it's colder.

it probally is safer but with my method of using custom tanks its safer than having a big *** tank in the back but anyways instead of using ice and water get some dry ice in a bag and put it around the jug thing dont put dry ice inside because the tank will blow

dry ice+water= KABOOOOOMMMM

i was thinking of doing something like that, what about fuel line, can you make a can(like a catch can) where the fuel line spirals in it so there's room for dry ice, will that work?

i know about tippman i have 1 and a very custom spyder. im gona do it. and for anyone who says water would/could be colder then co2, go to a place that fills co2,fill up a small tank and then open the valve and let all the air blast your hand constatly until its all gone, and also then feel the tank, they can get to negative 0 degrees fast. oh and by the way if you are dumb enough to actualy do this make shore you have 3 hands first because youl be less one after words.

little fridge, put dry ice in it forever, run fuel lines through it+make a fogger system for air intake or inter cooler with co2 tanks+oil cooling system=cold *** engine gaining horsepower (I hope)

hey corey i just found a cheaper way to do this

buy this sprayer kit unless u want to make ur own
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

then buy this tank
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-5-lb-Co2...wItem

and all u need is a line the tank has a valve already on it so all ull need is the line and some custom brackets i think these two things would be easier than using the paintball co2 tanks becasue with that ull need an extra valve plus this is almost 3 times bigger so less refills plus u can still unhook it when u want im definetley gonna try this when i get my car but i think this tank is the perfesct size not to small but not to big check it out and tell me how it turns out

I've seen this on a demo derby car before. The owner claimed it worked wonders.

that tank looks cheap and i dont like it. im gona use my trusted tank brand. i forget what it is but i know they are good and wont explode at high temps, my friends was some cheap ebay thing and exploded under the seat of his car one day and it was only 97 degrees out. it put a small hole in the flore and blew the seat off the rails. this is one of thos things you dont wana ebay unless its name brand, i plan on running 2 24 oz tanks, and if i do the diy oil cooler il probly have another one for that too.im going to myrtle beach in 10 min keep this thread up for 5 days

i used to have an intercooler sprayer on my old evo of mine and i sitll have it in my room and are planing to put it on my coupe...the whole idea is to cool the air in the intercooler...as we all kno denser air is better for the combustion process.

xckid.....you are right about that...but cooling a radiator in a fast amount of time will not cause anything to become brittle..they are designed to get hot and cold in a fast period of time..

if you guys pay attention to any of the drift comps. youll see they have intercooler sprayers and i have seen some cars with radiator sprayers also.

if you take a look at the attachment that i have included you will see what the "sprayer" bar looks like...well i was figuring if you made your own it would prove to have more surface area for better cooling..
