NEW SIGNATURE RULES - - PLEASE READ!

Previous threads concerning signature limits were requests for members to follow guidelines. With growth comes change and the following are the official NICO rules for signatures. Please follow them and adjust your current signatures as the NICO Moderation staff have better things to do than edit sigs all day. This thread will be updated from time to time and it is up to you to make sure you are "up to date" on current NICO rules.

1) Maximum sig size is 600x235: Maximum picture size is 600x200 within a sig along with two lines of default-sized text. Text only should be no larger than 235px high. If you are not sure if your signature meets these limitations, ask.

2) Nudity and vulgar language is not allowed, nor is finding cute and clever ways of representing profanity.

3) Any quotes that are considered outlandish by members or NICO staff will be removed. Remember, this is "you" signing "your" post only and should reflect that.

4) No religion or non-religion bashing/statements allowed.

5) Sigs are not to be used to make political statements of any kind.

6) Banned members are not to be referenced to in anyone's signatures. What's done is done, move on.

7) Linking to another forum, a non-sponsoring shop or company, or a competing website is prohibited, so please do the right thing.

Please note the following when adjusting your signature:

1) If it's got a funny quote and it's been up a while, chances are it's no longer funny.

2) If it contains a picture or reference to an "inside joke", chances are it's not only no longer funny, but it's also confusing to new people.

3) If you don't want to look at other people's signatures while you're surfing NICO, there's an option in the User Control Panel (see the "Profile" button at the top of the screen) to turn signatures off.

In order to be even-handed as possible in dealing with signatures, anyone in violation will have their sig edited without notification. If you are missing something in your sig, do not add it back. Adding edited material back into a signature will result in an initial 1 day ban which will be increased with each occurrence.

Admins and Super Moderators will be monitoring the forum and adjusting signatures as time permits. If someone's sig is exceedingly over-bloated or excessively breaking listed rules, you may notify the appropriate moderators. Minor issues should be ignored as they will be adjusted by the staff when time permits.

I have had signatures turned off for years because so many are so repetitive, uninformative, large, and just plain abused.

Hope this helps.

Your sig shows as less than 600x200, so yes it's ok.

The pics have to be "hosted" online somewhere. NICO had a free hosting site, but ran into "software" issues when we switched from VBB to ZeroForums (previous guys didn't like us changing ). NICO currently has a pay (small annual fee) site iServe, or you can use one of the many online for free (pop ups and ads) pages.

Once you have them hosted, then you insert the url of the image in the body of your post, like this
[ i m g ] h t t p://w w w.urlofyourpic.com/coolpicture.jpg[/ i m g ]

Simply don't put the "spaces" inside of the [] brackets, nor your pic's web address.

To feel the tightly bound leather of the steering wheel as you wrap your fingers around it... to feel the soft Italian suede seats grip you and to feel the click of the shifter as it slips into 1st... you then let off the clutch and slam the throttle and feel it throw you back into a world of pure serenity.

Since there isn't a PM system here I wanted to know if what I am requesting is considered part of this rule.

I am a mechanic, recently laid off, that is doing work from home to pay bills. Can I put a notice in my SIG to let people know, in my region, that I am around and cheaper then the dealership? I'm not looking for coast to coast work but this'll let people that come on asking questions that I can do the work for them. Or just to contact me on AIM and I can talk them through the problem.

I do work from home for 1/4 of the dealer. IM me on AIM if you need something done.

Are you talking about as a whole or the PIC cause I just checked and the pixals are at 601 x 262 I assumed there was a minor leeway cause pics are different and resize differently.
