There has recently been a few threads on buying cams for the RB motors. Just saw that TOPHATPERFORMANCE.com now supplies Kelford Cams made for the RB20/25/26 motors. Not sure if this is news or not.

Personally I've never heard of Kelford Cams and I can't really find much info on them, but the cam specs seem to be pretty well though out when compared to HKS or Tomei specs.

http://www.tophatperformance.com/ under Kelford cams about mid way down the page they have a section for RB20/25 and RB26. Prices seem fair and it would seem the wait to get these wouldn't be as long as it would be for Tomei or HKS units.

And on a side note, does anyone have any difinitive info on max lift for stock springs for each motor? Thanks

Luke

Cams look interesting but I don't have the desire to be a guinea pig and try them out. I think Carl H mentioned that the max lift possible without machining the head or making other mods is about 9mm. BTW, those cams aren't any cheaper than Tomei Poncams, Procams, or even HKS.

I was thinking the same thing, I don't want to be the test subject and would rather go for something tried and true.

And the prices aren't better, but close to being the same. Only benefit is I would see these as being easier to get than some of the other options as I believe they are a stateside company.

Maybe if they gave me a free set to test out, I'd put them in. I could be their guinea pig

I'm going with the HKS 256 x 8.8mm lift on both the intake and exhaust. They're cheaper (from Japan) and they're billet cores, not OEM regrinds.

I'm sure if a couple of guys were interested in cams. I could talk to Mike @ Top Hat and he would give you guys a discount. He' a real good guy, he would definetly work with you guys. They do seem kinda expensive though.
