I posted my post here about modding VQ engines days ago, and not one response.

Just wondering where the real boards are if anyone knows.

Thanks.

Wow, that's kinda rude....

Sorry we missed your post. Let me see what we have available.

I think possibly one factor is that people ask for information on internal mods, bt have neither the intentions, the skills or the budget to actually do a built VQ.

Not that this applies to you, but just something we've seen in the past...

Lemme see what we can come up with for ya.

There is another forum for Maximas only that cover the VQ engine in great detail, however they are not tolerant and rather hostile of stupid questions, require you to search extensively before you post, charge you $20. to search and will flame you for your rude attitude.

You mean NICO isn't the only Nissan board?

It's the only one I have ever used

NICO is the "newbie friendly" Nissan board. I'm new to modding an import (used to be a Chevy V8 guy) and Maxima.org's members did not care for my "ignorant" questions. I think I was flamed so many times my a$$ smells like smoke to this day. I prefer it here much more and feel like I can contribute to people who are not looking to step on the newbie just for the sake of making him feel stupid. I thought forums were where people go to socialize about a topic they have in common, not an encyclopedia of old threads you must search through. So now I'll leave my soapbox and say NICO KICKS A$$!!!!!

To all the regulars. Please do not take one rude nube as a sign of the thoughts of all nubes. I have found this board to be full of all sorts of good info and have found many hours of good reading over the past week or so. I am thankful for the hard work that has went into it and look forward to seeing more and maybe being a part of the action for some time to come.

By the way... if you want info on a motor, read some, read some more and ask questions that are not open ended that show that you may have went to some trouble to find something out on your own. Also consider giving some information in regards to what aplication you would use a particular powerplant for. Building a VQ for drag will not be like building one for AutoX which will not be like building one for serious track action. Some like NA whild some like boost while even others love giggle gas.

Yep, yep and yep.

I'm rather proud of our reputation as a "newb-friendly" board.

The others make fun, but they're also sinking fast.

That's why I refuse to join that board and will ask my questions about my I30 and its VQ30DE-K here and not there.

NICO ♥

That was a rude post though... NICO is the only real Nissan board, anyway, so the thread topic was pointless!

Very good call Greg. I wouldn't help him if I saw him roaming the streets of Cleveland. Or at least broken down on the streets of Cleveland.

NICO FTW!!!

I never had a problem with the other forum. Nobody is rude on that forum at all unless you ask a stupid question and you don't have to pay $20 to search. It seems as though a lot of that how-to seem to be from some where else....I wonder where it came from.....

If you have a maxima, the org is where it is! if you have a 240, stay here. Maxima.org is way better than NICO will ever be concerning maxima's and Nico is better than the real .org when it comes to 240's. And not everyone over there flames either.

no reason to flame the board you're on. some people kill me. i refer many of my nissan/infiniti customers at advance auto parts to NICO for future reference. all the ones that have used it and came back thanked me for the recommendation.

NICO is pretty lay-back as far as the ppl here; i have found other forums are snobby especially freshalloy (which are majority sr fan boys).

That's what all the other 240 sites said when we got started...

Don't be too sure.

I haven't had much experience with the other .org concerning Maxima's but I favor this one because you don't need to make a few "worthwhile" threads in order to post in the forums. NICO is where I plan on staying.
