some kind of kit like this would be the easiest route to go

perhaps email the seller and ask him if this kit will also work in a 240, or if not they might be able to get one since the same seller as a lot of these kits listed. I'm sure if you ask around specialty/stereo shops and the like you might find one or two that does power window conversions.

insane amounts of wiring, you have to make a place for the controls too, and you have to get the inner door panel all the way open. Then you gotta get the motor in, get everything fastened down properly and you still have to remove your cranks too. If you haven't done a lot of wiring before than at the very least get someone to help you (in person, not online or over the phone)who has.

He buying the complete pwr window door, which was a suggestion I think Ive read before. After that, it seems like a matter of running the wires. If your friend's car is currently intact, it would be much easier to just copy everything.

I want to go the other way

Power > manual... anyone know what I need to do to swap out the window stuff? (do I have to drill a hole for the crank?)

you wouldnt have to drill holes if you get a manual window door panel. that way the hole will already be there.

Power = The Suxt0rs..

yea my window will go down but I have to pull it up and I don't just want to replace the regulator because it will just break again so I would like to go manual.. but not replace the door because the paint is good

you dont have to replace the door. you just replace the door panel, should be a lot easier than changing the whole door.

The doors are the same, and they even have the holes for both applications (power/manual), you can still use your power window panel by drilling hole for the crank and keep the power buttons/ handle thingy. Just have the button fo' show..... *or rewire them for ejection seat or drift mode.... I even considering going manual because I've been thru 2 actuators in my driver side and is getting old. I mean I only crank my window down once a day if that....and used actuators are expensive and somewhat rare...

*-sarcastic mode:) do not take seriously....

NO NO NO

it is not that hard

have you ever looked inside your door? or a door with power windows, do it and youll see how uncomplicated it is

*donor car*take off interior panel rip out plastic wrap

theres 4 bolts that hold the glass onto the reg, take those out

slide glass out the top (watch out for the stopper at the top)

then 4 nuts that hold the reg onto the door, take those out, lift regulator out (unplugging wires)

unbolt the control box near the rear of the drivers door and remove it with all the wiresfor teh window junk

see if you can grab all the connectors for the window junk to the main harness (will make life easier if you need to disconnect your whole door later on)

do the same thing to the passenger door, except the control box

next is installation on your doors

remove manual handle

remove interior door panel and rip out plastic

remove glass (same 4 bolts as teh other one)

remove regultor (might not be the same 4 nu locations, just get it out of there)

drop in power regulator, making sure to snake the motor plug thru the hole

put the 4 nuts back on

put the glass back in (same 4)

bolt the window control box to the rear in the same location as the donor door

plug everything back in

do the same to the passenger side minus the control box

now the hard part

you need to snake some wires thru your dash (if it was me, id take out the dash and do it all teh right way, but some people are scared of removing the dash for some reason.... you just gotta be gentle with the windshield vents, armor-all them a few days before you start this so they dont snap... then use a #3 flathead screwdriver and gently pop it up from teh front on one side working your way to the other)

get the wires snaked thru to the other side and match colors, thats it

you just need a hot after that, for power (maybe a ground for some reason) and ill post that wire up with pics of all the important crap tonight for you (because im a nice guy)

****, ill just do a real writeup of it tonight.

in fact, ill post this up right now as a new thread and add the pics later (and scam a title )

to answer your question, no it isnt easier to just swap the doors, then you have to deal with striker and locks lining up (and painting)

but yeah, aside from that its just 4 bolts that hold the door brackets onto the unibody (2 for each hinge)

then you would just need to match up the colors of wires (or if you can take the dash out of the donor car and just grab the harness, and cut it away from the rest of the main dash harness it would all be plug and play minus the hot and ground)
