Well, thanks to the KA24ET forum, my ka-t made its first successful journey today, 60 miles with no problems. I watched my wideband the whole time and the car just needs some final tuning. Well heres my setup.

Need some input, I got a turbo wrap kit, should I use it?

I'm hoping to get it dynoed this month, anyway on with the pictures.

Are you running the single maps or are you running all 6 maps? You might want to set it to single, its a little easier to tune.

The base was probably set for all 6.

Is that a Joke? And you know I live in boring ohio.

But the pink and purple, well since all the mis-informed SR boys think the KA is gay, I decided to make it feel that it was gay and had to bow down to the almighty SR (this was after reading Super Streets response about the Ka)

Also running stock boost for now, ECU tuning was cake, all the info is at the ECCS-TEC forum.

Afr's Are pretty rich at the moment, they need to be leaned out and I believe I keep running off the map. But A good day and I think I could have it all tuned.

When you say 'temporary' 2.5" exhaust...Don't forget to re-tune the ECU for more fuel when you add a larger exhaust. Larger exhaust reduces backpressure and increases boost pressure so just watch for that when you switch it up.

Nice ride I like your sense of humor! Just remember Super Street did us all a favour by makin the KA seem worse than a Lada. Cheaper engines!! I went so far as to buy the magazine to encourage that behaviour haha.

Keep it up!

temporary exhaust is just my old exhaust hoked up until i have the money for a new 3" exhaust, it still pulls great through. But after every upgrade I'll probably do a pull on the highway and datalog and then go over it to see what needs to be changed.

Being able to tune yourself is priceless.

Hey, that is a very similar setup to mine you have. Except mine hasn't ran since last year. When I do get it to run, I've been considering the ECU tuning route, but never really got the software to work, although I've been in touch with Devious, it always was a work in progress for me. I am assuming you chipped the stock ECU, and then modded the bin files, right? What software did you end up going with? How do you datalog? Would it be ok for me to take a look at your base maps? I think they would probably be a good point for me to start from. Of course this would have to be cleared with Devious, he's the creator, but if he gives his ok, and he he has sent me maps in the past, I'd really like to see where I can take this ECU tuning thing.

And yes, I think we all wanna see dyno numbers, it's not too often a nice clean SOHC comes about and looks and works all nice.

Hope she keeps running well,

Well yes I did chip a stock ECU, but for a 92 Stanza so I'm able to have consult.

The base tune I used is from Gabe but the same tune, just with a Z32 MAFS is available from the ECCS TEC forum. But I should be posting mine up there when I get my cars final tuning done.

I use the 925style.com Rom Editor at the moment, it suits my needs and is user friendly. For datalog, I will be using DSCAN with maptrace to see exactly where the ECU is lookin gon the maps. Then in conjuction with my wideband I'll be able to easily fine tune everything to the right AFR's. But first I have to get my consult setup working, should be done with it tonight.

And I cannot wait to dyno and drag it. I want to see want kind of power I'm making.

So the 89-90 204s didnt come with consult port, but the 92 stanzas did? I know our SOHC are like OBD -3 (yes negative 3 lol), but that port under the dash, that's not a consult port?If you don't feel like going into great detail about it, just let me know where to look, I'll read it up myself. I wonder how hard the wiring is. That Rom Editor never really worked for me, the values/tabs always seemed to be off, and I've always wondered what other peoples screens looked like, cuz mine was always screwy. Do you have a newer version or something? Their website is as great as ever, "PLEASE WAIT RESTART FOR A WHILE" Lol. Those guys...

argh.. I'm at work but I really wanna go work on all this now, threads like this one motivate the hell out of me...

Thanks for being cool about this, it's always good to be able to share info with people. For one, I can tel you that I haven't maxed out my RX-7 460s at 15psi on a RX-7 t3 (SAFC tuned, but only around 40% over, at most), so you should be more than fine with both fuel and itming tuning of the chip, as far as your turbo can take it.

Look for a writeup at the ECCS site soon on getting the consult setup working in a ka24e 240.

And the ROM editor is a simple fix, you just have to have windows setup to see it right. To get it to display right, go to control panel -> regional and language options. Then click on the advanced tab and in the first pull down box, it will say something like "Language for Non-Unicode programs" in blue at the top. From the pull down list select Japanese. Click ok and it will then say you need to restart your computer, restart it and the program should look like the picture. It worked for me and I hope it will for you guys having problems.

This eccs site. http://eccs.hybridka.com/

Glacier, what is your A/F ratio looking like? Also, I think everyone was off on the timing maps at the time of that bin. They thought the cell value should be divided by 2.5 to get actual timing. Now it's looking more likely that the cell values are actual timing. Subtract 15 to get deg of advance. Anyway, if you get a good idle - awsome. If the car seems slugish and exhaust temp is high, you might try reworking the timing.

Just be carefull, nothing is for sure yet. Tell us about your A/F ratios.

I'm hoping to get a datalog of my AFR's tomorrow and then go through and check everything to make sure my final bin is good. But as of tonight it looked like my afr's were great, could still be leaned some more, but not bad. E.G. in boost I was 12:1 most of the time, when i could be 12.5:1 for max. power.

About the timing, I actually think this bin is a newer one, Gabe sent it to me not to long ago (about 3 weeks). I'll hae to ask him about the timing, I'm sure he knows.

Sounds like a good start anyway. Someone was telling me that our software was wacked. The fact that you changed MAF and injectors and were able to start it must mean he was full of crap.
