Someone should really read the top thread - tophat mounts notice. I'll be surprised if it comes out right. Good luck!-Alex

Why is it not possible to use the original RB mounts? For my car the front subframe was replaced with one from another nissan which put the mounting holes farther forward where they need to be for the RB. The SR subframe has the mounts about 4 inches farther back than the RB. Or is this subframe not available in america and special mounts are needed? This has me a bit confused.

The RB needs to go back and down from the stock mounting of the skyline not forward. The SR crossmember is the same as the USDM KA I believe. You can use the skyline mounts but the motor sits too far forward and too high. Can't use the SR x-member because its the same as the Ka and sits back too far and will make the engine hit the firewall therfore special mounting is needed.-Alex

i believe if someone uses the RB crossmember is needs to be dropped about an inch (not sure on this part), and pushed back about 1-1/2"

i have my mckinney mounts and they fit awesome on the crossmember... i'll hopefully have the motor in the engine bay saturday.

the cross member i got for mine mounted same height as the SR and alot farther forward since the engine is longer. It wasnt too high and it isnt a KA one. Can't remember what car i got it from but i will take pics.

I've seen two crossmemebers one from the R32 and one from the Laurel, the Laurel actually sits lower and further back than the r32.

YOU should read the thread, obviously the issue with E&E using bunk mounts is over...

...and as far as Mike's mounts are concerned, look at the pic in my sig, see that car? I reswapped my motor this week into another car and guess what, Im using the mounts from that crash. Yepper, the engine mounts pulled back on the bushings but made it out fine, and the transmission support actually broke the spot welds off the unibody where it bolts up and pulled the panels with it, no bending at all!

I stand behind THP mounts with everything, lets see another set of mounts handle that kind of abuse.

Thats the one Jon, most everything on the front of the motor has been replaced, skyline it came from had to have been hit hard. We finally got the MAF wiring figured out, but it still wouldn't fire up and stay running, I think the CAS is going bad, if not gone, it was pretty beat up from the beginning but we will see tommorrow. We'll find out for sure tommorrow, it will be making its maiden voyage.
