We complained to the dealer and they took off the cost. Now we find that the roof rack has an unexpected value -- it is much easier to find the car in a parking lot. I put Thule cross bars and a box on the roof. I had it on all winter for my skis and took it off in the summer to try to get better performance.To tell you the truth, I don't see any difference in performance or gas milage with the rack on or off, which surprised me.With a roof rack and performance winter tires, I still got my EX driving really fast. However it always seems to take lots of gas, roof rack, winter tires or not.
