Quote, originally posted by Timmbo The EX35 is really not a "tuner's" vehicle, although the vehicle has some amazing performance capabilities. Lets face it though, it is a premium luxury vehicle, light years away from an MR2. Completely different demographic as well, thus the difference in forum activity.true, and I picked up a S60 R to replace another car so my EX feels a little gutless now (which used to be just the opposite)...so pardon me if my enthusiasm for it goes down a little.

Quote, originally posted by gloa2000 I remember 5 yrs ago(when i was student), i was on S2KI.com about 5 hrs a day.hit it right on the nail, when i graduated HS in 2004, i bought the 2004 TL w/A-spec, now that I'm done and working, it's not so much about modding, even tho the TL is SUPPOSED to be a mid lux sedan, the amount of mods is quite amazing.anyway, i needed to grow up, most o the mods i did to my car are cool and i love them, but when I'm pulling into work or next to my neighbor who's getting out of his S8, i always felt so much more immature when i got out of my TLnow i just feel more...bland (not the right word to use), but the idea is, i'm not turning heads with a negative vibe, also, it seems that this car is so electronic heavy, that alot of the basic mods may not applyif i read correctly, - adding the intake doesn't necessarily promote gain or noticeable gain in HP- doesnt look like there's a lightweight pulley- there are too many sensors on the exhaust that we can't really go catless unless we defouled all the sensors....and doesn't look like there are any other there anyway (other than straight pipe on resonator)- above reason is the same reason we don't have a down pipe- the ECU might be able to be chipped but with RWD and AWD variants, it's hard to please both crowds of such a small niche. ~ the R&D would be off the wazoo and then it would cost to much for any enthusiast to really want to spend money onur real option is probably a small shot of NOS, and maybe rebuilding the internals with stronger quality materials - but again this exits the enthusiast term and is in the car fanatic realm

Makes total sense.Keep in mind, the EX driver is typically older, less net-savvy, and probably busier! Also, the MR2 has a history that goes back almost 25 years (WOW!). The EX doesn't.With that said, the EX is an amazing car that has been failed by its manufacturer - The marketing is terrible, and most people have no idea it even exists. If they did, there would be a TON of them on the road - It's THAT good a vehicle.

I dont think less activities mean less love on their vehicle. Ex is very more mature vehicle than MR2-spyder, those people who drives an EX is more likely a person who is working full time than people driving MR2's, who is more likely a students/young fellas who has more time to modify/discuss about their vehicle. Ignore me if i dont make sense

The EX is more targeted towards people wanting a crossover instead of a mini-van and most of those people do not do many upgrades nor frequent forums unless they have a question. People who would buy a MR2 would be more sport oriented and willing to look into upgrades and frequent forums.

I think EX owners are quite happy, which is why you don't see more posts. My experience has been that the more people have to complain about, the more they need to vent via online posts. So as a whole I think we are very happy with our EX's, and believe that you will see that when scanning past topics. Best wishes.

I can't believe there isn't more activity on this forum. Even with just 15,000 units a year. On the MR2 Spyder forums (25,000 units, USA total run), there is a lot more activity. Do EX35 people not love their cars in general
