Looks like it's coming along Great! Though I will say the weak point to any pre-FD rotary (no it's not the rotors, pfft) is the ignition system. The distributor idea just doesn't pan out as reliably on a rotary as on a piston engine. Some people like them, but I'd say at least visit a few RX-7 sites and look around for some options. With only 2 rotors it's usually fairly simple.

finally someone with good feedback .here are some pictures of the project, so you could see im not BS, is still not done. just take that in mine before you criticize me,and work. also im not a mechanic just a guy that likes own cars, and this is my first 510 project only major part of this project was to cut and flip and re-weld the crossmember, make the front motor mount ,and also the tranny mount. is almost there, just need a couple of more detail. I will post a link of the progress http://s928.photobucket.com/albums/ad121/alexruano/

people only run into problems with rotarys when they treat them like piston engines. The first thing someone needs to do when they get a rotary is throw out the piston mindset and start from scratch. It has to be built different, treated different, and tuned different. I know a few guys running stock S4 rotaries that have over 250k on their 13b and are still showing 120psi on all 3 faces of each rotor. Just rememberBIG oil cooler (rotaries expel 1/3 of the entire engine heat through the oil)keep lots of oil pressurekeep the oil jets supplied with oil or pre-mix your gasrun them richRedline them at least once a week... this doesn't sound normal for any engine, but if you don't beat the $hit out of them at least once a week carbon will build on the seals and you can throw reliability out the window.Congrats on the Rotary Dime... go embarrass some piston engines

if you are confortable rebuilding rotaries and constantly mopping upp leaking oil be all means put int he rotary seriously, rotaries can make big power but they do tend to be leaky and not known for their lonjevityby the way, the VG, CA, KA and SR are all fairly common swaps for the dime, and are traditional piston engines that you can have serviced at any shop. many shops will nto work on rotaries
