The VQ35 has a lot more mid-range punch. I found it only picked up speed quickly in the higher rpm's, but not in a good way. The sound from the exauhst was horrible. What impressed me the most about it was the driving postion, and the autobox. It was an electronically controlled 6-speed, with steering wheel mounted shift paddles, and it was lightning fast on the shifts! I remember the first 'tip-tronic' system I used in 2002 in an E-class benz, and my god it was slow. If it was the 306HP V6 it can either be the 1 or 2 LT, but since that one had the alloy wheels, it was more than likely a 2LT. You can add the RS package to any of the four trims.
