Thanks for the info, CPS. Our friends at Scottsdale just confirmed what you've said as well. Apparently the "new" vehicles use Matic S but cant use Matic J. "The older vehicles can use both, so they discontinued the Matic J and only produce the Matic S now".

Matic J is no longer available. Matic S is the new part number provided by Nissan and is the only fluid available. It is fully compatible with Matic J and Matic J transmission vehicles. They can be mixed together and will not affect the warranty. I work for a dealer and I deal with this question fairly often.

I ordered Matic-J from EverythingNissan to flush out the AT fluid, and what was shipped is Matic-S. When I questioned about the purchase, I was told by our friend at Scottdale that I could use Matic-S when Matic-J is specified. However according to the warning label under the hood, it explicitly states that using any fluid other than Matic-J would damage the transmission and essentially void any warranty. Does anyone have insight into this matter from a dealership warranty perspective Has Matic-J fluid been discontinued
