not a problem i was just making sure you didnt change email and forgot to update your profile. I did realize that my audi has 6 interior speakers so i think a 5 channell amp is out of the question now. I have a mrdm605( i think that is the model) to run my type r so i dont really need an amp to run the subs i just thought it would be cleaner to only have one amp instead of two.

Well, the CleanSweep is used to take the signal from an OEM radio and make it into a flat signal. A lot of radios these days output a pre-equalized signal. Which will only cause havoc when you are trying to install aftermarket amplifiers and/or speakers. So the CleanSweep really isn't needed if the OEM radio has a non-equalized output. So in order to use a CleanSweep, you have to use aftermarket amplifiers on ALL of your speakers in the vehicle. Here is a tad bit of info on the unit and some examples of what it does in a couple different vehicles.

I believe she wants to get it as close to what she had before as possible. As far as I know she had a higher end Alpine head unit and door speakers. With a amp only running to the sub. From what I can gather she wants the same/comparable sound quality as she had before, while retaining the stock head unit and climate controls. So far this is all i have been able to find with out going with a crazy touch screen or something. If a small amp for the door speakers was needed also i dont see that being to much of a problem. Thanks for the help. I have not really been able to wrap my head around this Clean Sweep setup from what JL has on the website.

Well, in order to run the Cleansweep, you have to run an aftermarket amplifier to all of the speakers in the car. Are you simply wanting to just hook up the sub?

You will need the standard harness, kit and antenna adapter. I'm pretty sure that you don't need the data interface, but you won't know until you try it. For the three things I just listed you are looking at $39 shipped. My Paypal is in my sig.

You will need to take pictures of the OEM wiring harness. There are three different harness possibilities. Also, one of those possibilities is a $100 interface module that you may need depending on what OEM system is in there. You will also need an antenna adapter and a dash kit. I don't even stock most of these items. In my 16 years of business, I have only done maybe one radio install in a Passat. I am not a Pioneer dealer, so you would have to source that GPS antenna somewhere else.

Hey broadfield... i sold my S14 and got an 06 Passat 3.6L 4motion. I need to transfer over my Pioneer AVIC-D3 Navi into this thing. I need the best install kit, and everything needed to make it work, also a GPS antenna for the D3 cuz i left it in the 240. The passat is the highest trim w/o navi. Space and rattles are easy to overcome. Do a single JL 13W5 flat sub fiberglassed in the spare tire well. This will take up zero space and be completely hidden with the OEM rear carpet mat in place. This will give you GREAT bass, but not so much that you are heard from blocks away.... which also translates into not a lot of rattles. If you have any rattles, most of it will be concentrated in one or two spots..... so some simple sound deadening and you are good to go.

This is an example of a spare tire well 13W5 I did in a Z06. Then the factory cover goes over it.... or in your case your carpet. In your case I would simply incorporate some steel grill material over the sub. That way you would still have full use of your hatch.

o ok. i would definately like the full spectrum of sound but the main thing that is holding me back with the low end would be space and I dont want so much power that the car rattles.

Yeah, you can only reproduce low notes with a big cone. You would need 8" subs at the very least, a sealed enclosure for them and an amplifier to driver them. Hybrid Audio 6.5" component drivers produce the best mid-bass I have ever heard, but they still don't reproduce sub-bass.

THanks Alot TOBY! I just got done installing everything and it does sound alot better. Its alot louder in the mid and high region but the low not so much. Is their anyway other than getting subwoofers to enhance the low end?

Also, the KTP-445 has a high/low switch on the bottom of it. You will leave it on high unless you are running a subwoofer setup.
